My nut is a hoot...lots of energy and she wears a "Eat Beef" button (no foods should be taboo...only moderated is her motto). At my first apt she weighed me, took a weight history, asked about exercise and then laid out my first months targets for Carbs (120-140 a day), Protein (80-90 g a day) and total calories 1500 a day. We talked about label reading, her requirements for a Protein Drink (low carb high protein), and the habits I should start practicing now for after surgery (chew each bite 20 times, no drinking with meals). She said my weight goal was to lose...no specific number. Hope that helps. It will be interesting to see what YOUR experience is...let us know how it goes!

I had a group meeting where she went over what we could and could not have. We got a book with instructions and Vitamin information. I feel the Vitamins are complicated lol, I'm going to see if she will help me with that a little more the next time I see her one on one. She told us how many calories to eat during each phase and how many calories to maintain, things like that.

Hi Jen

My first appointment was 4 months before surgery. She had me start on a 1800 calorie diet and begin tracking food intake. We talked a lot about eating habits and what foods to eat. She even had a plate with right size portions on it. She also gave me a target weight to shoot for on my next appointment a month later. Motivating!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
