Almost two weeks post op. Need help/mentor/buddy!

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I am new to this site but it seems like the best way to go. I was sleeved on June 26th so I am now 10 days post op. I started my full liquid phase but immediately stopped losing the gradual weight I had been. In fact I gained. Is that normal? I log my food and watch calories/carbs/sugar, I follow what the classes and the nutritionist said. I want so badly to be successful and have finally become able to be more active since I am still healing. Have any of you dealt with this so soon? I need peace of mind!

Hey pretty girl! I was sleeved on 6/17/2014 so we are still in the same rookie boat..lol. I lost a lot of weight my first week because of the liquids also. The weight loss is going to do some crazy things so try not to stress. Some days I haven't lost anything. I was like "hold up!!". It is going to take time for your body to adjust. Remember, the sleeve is a tool. You still have to eat right and slowly reintroduce exercise to your new body once you are able. Have you gone to your post op visit yet? Make sure you take all questions and concerns to your doctors....

I was sleeved on 6/24 and have been stuck for the last 5 days. Part of it is my period. And part I think not enough Protein. So today I made sure I got my Protein in and counted -- 89 grams!

The Water intake through is challenging for me. I think I managed 40 ounces. So that is next goal to maintain the protei level and increase the Water

I'm getting in that Protein as well. About 70 grams. I find drinking enough difficult too. But this is so worth it!

I was just sleeved on the 7th, & I'm really struggling to get the 60 g of daily protein & 64 fl oz of beverage in addition to the protein. I try to consume regularly, but I feel so full! I haven't had problems passing gas, but I do feel Urey from time to time.

Any suggestions?

I was sleeved on 6/18 week 2 post I stalled hard. All I did was change my diet a bit and now im back on a steady decrease. Altho I am judging more bout how I feel and visible weight loss. Cause I dont weight myself religiously. Week 2 I was 320lb 4 days later I did weight myself still at 320. Now I have no clue but I do feel bout 10lb lighter. Stalls are inevitable. Just remember ur in it for life. No need to rush. Besides it gives time for skin to catch up with weight loss.

I was sleeved on 6/9. I've been struggling this last week also. The scale isn't moving and my eating has been completely on track. I know I'm not exercising as I should. But given the low food intake and high Water intake, could my lack of exercise really be preventing the weight loss? I'm feeling discouraged and frustrated.

I know how you feel! I have even increased exercise. I bought a treadmill and a new bike to go on bike rides and I'm using them now in hopes that will push me over back to a steady decrease. I've come a long way and look different but I want to keep going!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
