Looking for July Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I drank shakes for 2 weeks. I found Isopure is not too sweet and has no carbs. I was sleeved yesterday and was very nervous I must admit there were a few tears. I am so glad I did it and honestly the pain is not too bad. I had great doctors and a wonderful hospital in marina del rey. I am very fortunate to have great insurance so it only cost me about $500 out of pocket for the stay in the hospital hotel after care. The majority of the pain is gas pain. If you walk around a lot after it works itself out mostly from burping. I have never had any surgery before and I am amazed at the level of pain. The most it has been is about 4 or 5.

sounds like you're doing really well! Not to scare you lol but I was sleeved on Monday and today was the worst so far pain wise.. So just be prepared! But congrats! And good luck with the rest of your recovery.

Hi everyone ... my surgery is scheduled for July 23! Had my pre-op class 2 days ago, and I'm now on the mostly liquid (but not straight clear) diet until the 21st, when I switch to the clear diet for 2 days.

I'm nervous/excited/ready to get this behind me ... I started the process in April, so glad it is almost done!

I start my liquid only stuff as I go to bed this Sunday. Two weeks ago I kept asking our bariatric coordinator at the clinic when I should start the liquid diet and they said, nope start when you go to bed on Sunday. My sleeve is scheduled for the 16th. I will get a call the afternoon before for my check-in time. Yikes, it is becoming very real now.

Good luck to all sleevers!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck! I am recovering from surgery on wed and I can honestly say I feel a lot better than yesterday and yesterday wasn't bad either. Stay optimistic and drink all your Water. I know the liquid diet is hard but so worth it. I am not hungry anymore and I have been following my drs orders exactly. I really like the Isopure shakes and so far I have gotten about 40 grams of protien so far and I some yummy homemade chicken broth on the stove.

Where do you buy the Isopure shakes? ??

I'm not sure where you live but they sell it at GNC.

If you go to their website there is a "Where to Buy" tab and it has a list of retailers.

Oh girl im on day three and just cant choke down more sickly sweet shakes. Gross. Need this two week hell to be over. But its all worth it and its giving me tjme to think about why my cravings are happening and how to deal with them. Im not hungry now the shakes are very filling.

Thanks for being honest! I have struggled with the shakes especially Bariatric Fusions vanilla. I did discover it is a lot better mixed with unsweetened ice tea or regular black hot or iced coffee.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
