Am i a veteran yet?

Recommended Posts

Only ask this question because I can't find the rules about posting on this area. I am 10 months out, I am at goal and have lost just over 105 lbs. I have some questions about maintenance. Historically I have never been good at this since first diet aged 7 yrs or so.

You are considered a vet at the 1 year anniversary of your surgery.

I would post maintenance questions in the Life at (or near) Goal forum:

http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/425-life-at-or-near-goal/

Rules for the Vet's forum are at the top of the forum page when viewed from the website:

This forum is dedicated to veteran Sleevers who are one year or more post-op to discuss issues specific to those who are further along in their journey. Please note: You must be one year out to post or create topics here.

Actually the rule is 100 posts. I tried posting when I was 2 years out in the vets forum and couldn't do it until I had 100 posts.

Thanks for the answers. I will go onto the site tomorrow. I usually just do everything on my iPad. No problem to wait a couple of months anyway. I may have answers to my questions by then as well.

I will look for your post but bottom line I treat maintenance like the losing phase only I allow a few more carbs and calories.

The 100 posts is the one that can be controlled by software. The site admins haven't figured out how to program the software to limit people whose surgery date is < 1 year ago.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
