Today is my first day back to work since surgery on 4/29, actually since 4/27 which was my last day. I'm excited to get back in the swing of things but I'm nervous to be out in the real world with my new sleeve. Day 1 and I already know I won't be getting a lunch break but now I have to figure out how to get my protein/fluids in during my 9hr shift... Ugh this is so illegal lol

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of work do you do? I have a feeling that I will be in the same boat once I have the surgery as well. I get a lunch break, but what I actually do for 4-5 hrs. a day restricts just about all intake of anything.

Hi, I was so scared to go back to work and be in the "real" world. I drank 3 premier Protein drinks. I was fine with just that and got my 90 grams of Protein a day. Then I started to bring Soup for a change. No one noticed, no one cared. Now I have a yogurt or cottage cheese and 4 ritz crackers. I am 5 weeks out and doing fine. My only problem is being with others at times and needing to eat slow. It will work out. Just remember protein first!!! If the premier Protein shake is too heavy for your new tummy, cut it with milk. Good luck. You will be fine.

I'm 6 weeks out and it seems like a million years ago since I was back to work for the first time. Trust me when I say that people aren't watching your every move, like it feels they are. I just told people I was doing a cleanse and hitting the reset button, that's why I was off coffee and having shakes. I got nothing but encouraging words. Now that I'm down 30lb and 6 weeks out, everyone just thinks it's because I've been dieting and watching what I eat ( which is the truth) EVERYBODY WINS!

Plus now is a great time because everyone is trying to get in shape for summer and so are you :) Good luck!

I am also worried about returning to my job. I do assembly line work in the car industry ( no major heavy lifting) but I too am worried about the Water intake. My surgery is on June 28 and I will return to my job July 9. I hope that is long enough to be able to perform my job duties without pain or irritation. Any thoughts are appreciated.

My concern isn't people noticing anything, I was very upfront with my entire staff about my process. I work at a plus size clothing store and all the women are struggling like myself with their weight so I got nothing but support. I usually get a break but usually not Sundays. I was nervous because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough time to sit down and eat and get my fluids. I didn't have an issue with foods but I am having an issue with fluids since starting back work. I only drank 16 ounces so far today, not including my 8 ounce Protein Shake

Can you have a Water bottle around- that helps me get my fluids in. I find without my water bottle , I don't get my fluids in as easily. I got this one at Target for $7 , it's about 32oz. I have at least 2 a day, it's way easier than drinking from a glass. :)

my surgery date was also 4/29 and I went back to work exactly 3 weeks later. Im a nurse who works the night shift and the first 2 shifts were tough.I think just getting used to moving around for 8 hours was the reason. Ive been fortunate enough to have time to get my food and fluids in. Gook luck!

It actually is illegal and you should be getting at least 30 mins and two 15s. Hopefully you can just use some time to sip and work if you don't get a REAL break. If you get dehydrated and pass out its not helping anyone.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
