Ok Alicia, I hope this helps you. Don't starve or dehydrate yourself. As long as you are eating the right foods then your body will do the rest. Hopefully your doctor gave you some sort of plan for what is healthy and high in Protein to eat and what to stay away from. Dont make yourself sick with worry. I am almost 6 months post and eat just about anything. Its a new thing so you will have to experiment to see what your body can tolerate. I know you are still a newbie but EAT. Just stick to foods high in protein, low in fat and sugar. No fried foods!! Veggies are great if u tolerate them but make sure ur Proteins come first. Minimum of 60g and 64oz of Water. I drink a bottle first thing in the morning, between meals and one before bed. I have been doing 80-100g per day since about day 6 and i worked up to now drinking 6 or more bottles a day of water. I am now down 104lbs and im doing great so dont be afraid to eat. Just monitor it so its healthy. Your body will let u know when yohve eaten enough, trust me. Good luck to you and I hope you get through this ok.

Thank you Kimba. I appreciate the tips and support, I'm going to do more research this weekend and really try to get a routine down on what to eat and when. I'm definitely not eating anything fried, and stay away from breads and Pasta. I have remember I'm only entering my second month and can't expect overnight results. Thanks so much for the encouragement

So how is everyone doing? I'm still getting used to everything but it's becoming easier. I haven't been on this site very often lately. I'm down 43 lbs total. HW 315, SW 309, CW 272. I've had a couple stalls but they have gone away and I lose a few lbs on most weeks. I'm eating about 1200 calories a day. The clothing I have that fit are getting scarce! Shopping will be in my future soon. I feel much better and have started swimming for exercise. I hurt my ankle quite badly a couple weeks ago so swimming seems to be the only thing I can do right now. Went to the beach one day last week and man was that a mistake. The sand killed my ankle! Though I was going to have to crawl! Hope it gets better soon! Summer is here and it's nice and hot!

It's going a little bit better. I'm down 44 lbs in 2 months. I still find my body goes through stalls, and I've stuck with eating the same thing for the longest time and I'm starting to get bored, so I need to change it up. With it being the 4th of July today, it's gonna be a real challenge, but Im going to monitor myself, and make the healthiest choices possible.

Still looking forward to what the future holds and I'm praying I keep losing, and will stay strong.

That's great! 44 lbs! Hopefully you get through the weekend healthily! I'm eating a completely regular diet. It's hard to be super healthy all the time! It's going to bite me in the rear someday but for now I can eat what I want. Just very little of it! This is why I had the surgery.....so I can have limits to the amounts I eat! I don't want to diet forever. Smaller normal (or smaller) sized portions are so awesome!

Now since April 29, 2014 down 53 lbs started at 258. I have been concentrating on getting all of my Protein in, drinking my Water and keeping my calories low. I'm still eating less than 700 calories; usually in the 600's. Does this seem too low? I am fine with it. I'm not very hungry these days. I stalled at 5 wks, but have been losing steadily since then.

I want to strongly encourage you to use this time wisely. You are setting yourself up for bariatric surgery failure. If you don't make those healthy choices now while it's "easy," you won't do it later when it's harder. You've got one shot to do this right. Make healthy eating a habit and you won't struggle with it later.

You don't have to be "super-healthy"all the time. Just make smarter choices. Once a week allow yourself a SMALL indulgence, without guilt, and the rest of the time make good choices. Fill up on quality Protein FIRST and there won't be room for the bad choices--easy! :)

The sleeve doesn't give us license to eat whatever we want. It's a tool that makes it easier for us to make smart choices. Use your tool!

Hi all-I'm post op from April 7, what kinds of volumes is everyone eating? I'm concerned my stomach is stretching-even though I'm following the diet my nutritionist layed out for me!

Sarem: you're not gonna stretch ur stomach! I was eating 80-90G of Protein a day at that point. 4 meals a day. If solid food i could eat about 3-4 oz and if liquid i could do about 8-10 oz. Just stick to the eatting plan the doc gave you, hopefully they gave u some sort of plan, and you'll be fine. Your body will tell you when youve had enough to eat. Just eat slowly and keep it healthy high protein foods. I hiccup when my tummy is full. Also drive plenty of Water. Dont forget the exercise, lots of cardio and strength. Good luck to you.

Question: I can still only eat 3 to 4 oz at a time depending on the meal. I finish when I feel comfortable but I always feel uncomfortable like stomach full or gas pains. Does this happen to anyone? I make sure I don't eat fast. Any suggestions would be helpful I don't feel like I am eating that much but afterwards always feeling so full! Thanks!

What are u eatting on a normal basis?! Ur about 10 wks out correct? Your body is going through some major changes and some foods ur body may not want to handle just yet. I for one still dont eat more than a few ounces at a time. I feel full but stop when i feel full. I eat small meals and several times a day. Let me know.

. I usually do about 4 small meals a day. 10 weeks out yes! String cheese with turkey wrapped up, Cottage Cheese with peaches or pears, grilled chicken, Greek yogurt. That is my normal. I have went back to Clear Liquids a couple of times. Thanks for the reply. Maybe start doing 2oz at 6 small meals a day. :)

I usually do 4 to 5 small meals but not quite that small. I do 4-6oz about. Maybe too much milk product if that is the norm for u. It can create gas or bloating. I do 1 cup greek yogurt about once a day. Try eatting eggs or omelets for a channge. Turkey is also good. Try changing up ur diet to see if that will help witht the gas. Also i drink a bottle of Water between every meal toale sure i get at least my 64oz. Make sure ur are regualr too if u know what i mean. Not going more than a couple days between bowel movements. That can cause stomach cramping or pain too. Good luck

Hi All,

I'm actually post op from April 7th, I was wondering - what types of volumes can everyone eat? I can eat about 1/2-1 cup of food these days - i'm so freaked out that I am eating too much.

You're not eatting too much. Eat what ur body can tolerate. It will tell u when u feel full. Eat slow and enjoy ur new life and body. I dont really measure by cups. I do ounces. The further out u get the more u can eat. I eat 4 to 5 meals a day and usually 4-6 oz. Just keep it high in Protein. Good luck to you

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
