I haven't been sleeved yet, and I hear a lot about Hair loss. I know several women in my community who have had the surgery and I have talked to them and their hair thinned a little but it wasn't a big problem for them. After a year after the surgery you would never know it was ever thin. Can I please hear of more success stories in this area? Anyone out there that it didn't cause a major problem?

Unfortunately, I am not passed it yet. I was sleeved 4 1/2 months ago and it started about 3 weeks ago. My hair is already thin. To be honest, I am concerned but I have seen YouTube clips on the subject and everyone assures their audience that the hair will grow back. That's the important thing. Keep a healthy, high Protein diet and it will grow back.

Good luck on your surgery. It's worth it.

Oh yes, it will grow back. I lost from months 6 to 10, then it started to come back. I am close to 3 years post and you would have never guessed I had that little episode in my life.

I'm still in it, but I feel like it's slowing down a bit. I'm the only one who notices the Hair loss.

I was sleeved end of July so I am 8 months. I started loosing strands at 4 months. It started slowing at 7 months and now at 8 months it has stopped. I have baby hairs growing in. Please don't stress your self about it. I had a lot come out but I kept telling myself it's only temporary. I figured worrying about could make it worse. So I pulled it back a lot. I also tried to not wash it daily because the combing out would pull it and more would come out. I used to be a hair dresser and remembered things to help avoid tugging and breaking by using a soft brush. The old fashion kind like the vanity brushes that sit on the vanity tables from the 1940's. That brush and shampooing 2 times a week helped .

Mine thinned out in CLUMPS...but I have very thick hair...so no biggie for me, once I got past the shock of it!!! However, everything is fine now... it's more a surgery thing in general...it happens

Be sure to take your Vitamins and drink your Water...all that will help...

I'm at 3 months and mine started falling out last week I have a lot of hair though. I had started drinking Biotin a week before surgery to prevent it but it didn't, it did help with my skin and nails so I'll continue to drink it. I cut my hair short into a bob so it wont be noticeable. I'm going to keep it short for like 3 months I like it~it makes me feel like a new person =). Once I'm out the Hair loss stage I'll let it grow out.

I'm 4 mos out and my hair started falling out in clumps about 2 weeks ago. Now, my hair is really curly, and has always come out a lot when I wash it. But this is different and It's scary. But my hair dresser had the same procedure and told me it would happen. As did a friend of a friend's mother. I am taking all my Vitamins, trying to drink as much Water as possible and do what the doc says. That's all we can do. I'm also getting a sassy hair cut for summer. I'm hoping that will freak me out less to see huge bunches of hair coming out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
