I started my pre-op diet on Monday and I already fell of the wagon yesterday, first off my diet should consist, 2 of 3 meals will be replaced with a a Protein Shake then a healthy meal also a snack of sugar free pudding, popsicles or Jello. I did good till dinner yesterday went to taco cabana ordered a cabana bowl with rice, lettuce, cheese and grilled chicken, I knew it was bad but I still did it... Also I am not a Water drinker and I have not been drinking but a bottle a day, my surgery is scheduled for 4/11 :-(

Well, most all of us screw up at some point in our journey so jump back on the wagon and restart yours.

I'd suggest/recommend not going to any restaurants again before your surgery. The temptation is just too much for any of us before being banded.

And, if you don't drink Water, what do you drink? You must be drinking something?

The success of our journey consists of taking one step at a time.....one after the other....in the direction of our goal.

By focus on just that one step, each day we move closer to our goal.

We can do this one thing for ourselves today. Take that one step and move closer to our goal. Yes the journey is difficult.

Being non-obese feels better than any distraction tastes.

During those moments of distraction, I was surprised to find that yes, a drink of Water can be a valuable ally.

You're not the first and you won't be the last. This is really setting you up for a successful surgery - some doctors will stop in the middle of surgery if your liver didn't change, others won't even start if you didn't lose enough weight. I wanted my surgery to be super easy for my doc so I did my best to behave (I did not comply 100% but did pretty well).

Also this pre-op diet is great to get you used to post op diet when it's really tough. Get rid of your cravings now will make post op that much easier. I suggest if that's your trigger, try your best to not go out to eat.

You can do this!!

My surgery date is the 28th of April and I myself have cheated, failed, and etc. The doctor told me I can not gain any weight and need to stick to there food items. I have to do all Clear Liquids the day before surgery but I'm leaning towards doing it 2 days before.

Good luck to everyone. Things happen and we learn from it.

Don't be too hard on yourself. But feel good about your pre-op diet. I, and everyone my surgeon see, had to do only liquids for 2 weeks. And then the week before, Clear Liquids. So, it was liquids in, )and not being to gross), liquids out! You can do it, hang in there and get back in the wagon! Karen..aka..kll724

Great to see how many people are honest about their journey. I just started my 2 week liquid fast and I am also scheduled for surgery on April 11th. I'm really nervous about this 2 week fast. It feels like it is going to be pure hell. It's almost sort of depressing, but my husband keeps reminding me of my end-result and what my goal is. I know that one day I will look back and be so thankful that I took this step and made this decision.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
