Anyone having surgery in May

Recommended Posts

JolenB- I am not digging the Bariatric Advantage, vanilla or caffe late. I did watch to GNC lean25 chocolate. It has 50 more calories, but it's a lot tastier and lighter. I guess maybe those 50 calories are the reason u can't. I am on my 5th day of liquids and have lost 10 lbs. :)

Tebowfan, tell me about it they do not taste good at all. I've even added sf Syrup to the vanilla but it still isn't great. I haven't got on the scales yet, I'm thinking I'll leave the scales alone until after surgery it just depresses me! I can tell I'm losing though.

Well starting day 4 of liquid diet and I feel sooo much better, I can do this. My energy level has been really low I hope it picks up. I finish my pre op tomorrow with EKG, CXR and blood work then surgery!!! I have 3 women that I work with that had the bypass all within the last year, they all look so beautiful and healthy. I've been looking at all the youtube video transformations, gotta say I'm a little worried about the Hair loss though! Some seem to have it worse than others. Anyway, off to buy some gas ex and order my Vitamins, I'm getting the "Celebrate" vitamins. We were given a few different choices and these seemed to taste the best and have to take less of these than the others. People have made negative comments like " you have to take these vitamins every day for the rest if your life!" Like that's such a big deal...... I take blood pressure meds every single day, and wear a CPAP every single night, I'd rather give those up and take my vitamins every single day!!! Have a great day everyone!!

Jolene how long are you on the pre-op? We have the same date and I have to do 14 days. I am also on day 4. Just having a hard time with the Protein Shakes and went today and got a few different ones. I already finished all my pre-op blood work and stuff. I also ordered the Celebrate Vitamins and feel exactly like you. If I can give up my other meds for daily vitamins, then I would much rather do that. Keep up the good work.

Do you have a GNC store around you? I got to thinking, I add skim milk to Bariatric Advantage and Water to gnc so the calories are probably less Than bariatric advantage. I can't remember if I stated, I can have Protein Shakes, broth, sf Jello & Popsicles.

Hello! My surgery is scheduled for May 12th. I'm excited and nervous. I know it's the best choice for me but have never had major surgery or general anesthesia so that makes me nervous. I have a 1 1/2 yr old and the thought of not being able to carry her for 6 wks hurts my heart. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'll be able to do so much more once I'm at a healthy weight.

Rchobby I also have to do it for 14 days, actually the 14th day is no Protein shakes just Clear Liquids. This next week and a half is going to move fast for us!!! Where are you located? I'm in the Atlanta area. I guess I'll find out tomorrow what time my surgery is, I hope I'm scheduled for early morning. Stay strong we can do this????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
