Where's the April sleevers....

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. I just got my surgery date and it's April 29. I'm so excited, and thought I'd have to wait a lot longer. Sadly, I also got the stomach flu-- maybe it'll help me be ready for the liquids though!

My op is 29th April too where in uk r u? X

I wish I were in the UK! I spent three weeks in London last year, and never wanted to leave. I'm in the Pacific Northwest, in a city near Seattle. You?

Oh my word I'd love to visit Seattle my friend came out there 2 years ago and said it was amazing!

I'm in North England about 30mon car journey from Newcastle!

I'm so nervous for next Tuesday now, I'm not telling anyone apart from my folks, my husband and 1 friend! You?

Nervous some, but excited far more! The only ones who know are my husband, two adult daughters and my sister. I told my mum, but she's in the early stages of Alzheimer's and doesn't remember from day to day. I'm just not wanting to do anything to invite too much conversation about it or unsolicited opinions really.

Yes, Seattle is beautiful and not unlike England in weather and climate. It was dry all day today, but the sun never made it through the trees where I took my hike today, so I got quite muddy in spite of the sunshine. I'm not sure where Newcastle is, but my trip took me to South Witham/Grantham for a few days - so lovely!

I'm 8-10 days into the pre-op diet now, and more than last week I'm having head-hunger. Anyone else? It's making me nuts!! I bought some SF Jello but that's just not helping. Aurgh.

Congrats to you Webhopper! And best of luck to you KeedyGettingWaisted! (WAY cute sign-in name by the way!!)

I'm here to check in. I got discharged today at noon. I still cant get over how full I feel just from drinking a few ounces of Water.

I made me a smoothie with Greek yogurt; whole milk; and pineapple chunks and I'm drinking that. So far so good; its staying down.

At what point do I need to try to push for 50 g of Protein?

Yes I'm doing better today. I started aiming for some Protein intake.

I added a tablespoon of strawberry sorbet Protein powder into some very tunny oatmeal and ate half a package of oatmeal for lunch and Breakfast. For dinner I had 4 oz of potato Soup taken two oz at a time over 2 hours and I had added half a scoop of chicken flavored Protein from unjury and kept that down.

My downfall today was a cough that happened at 530 this morning followed by a searing pain near one of my incisions. It seriously hurt so bad I was almost in tears and I had my husband check to see if anything had ripped open and he said no. Anyways; that cough upped my pain for the day but I was able to go walk 2 times for 20 minutes each time and ive been up and about in the house. Ive been taking my pain medicine to keep the pain at a bearable state.

One thing ive discovered in the evening hours is that something that felt like hunger didn't go away after eating the potato Soup today but it did go away after eating some tums. So stomach acid can feel like hunger.. I remember reading that but now I know what they are talking about.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
