Happy Birthday tagyoorit!

thanks a bunch ... Ne
How are you doing? Are you back at the hotel? I'm staying at the Marriott after all. Surgery is in the morning! Getting nervous! I was just wondering how you were doing?
Thanks so much! I'm back in the hotel 3 days post op ... Got my suction tube removed today and feel really quite good. Pain at this point is minimal and have had only 2 occasions where I felt nauseous ... The key is to stop whatever is making you feel yucky right away, breathe deep and spit in a cup until it passes.... I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO HUNGER! My wife is reminding me that I should get some calories in ... Totally weird for me, to be sure! Not having any problems with keeping Protein down ... so far so good!Note: They changed the hospital on me at the last minute due to a problem with San Javier's surgical suites which gave me pause ... Not at all up to American standards in my opinion, but in the end I went through with it and am right as rain. Good luck tomorrow, I'm pulling for you!
Well, I'm back to the hotel only stayed in hospital 1 night, thank goodness. Today, 2 days post op, I feel pretty good. I Actually sit by the pool awhile today. Now, I going to eat with my daughters! Well, watch them eat! Its amazing I'm not hungry at all. Hope we continue to heal with no complications.
My wife is out shopping and I spend time walking around the Marina ... I'm in the lobby reading right now, going home tomorrow. No pain, no hunger, eating soupy stuff lolSo which hospital did they send you to? Medica Ebor? Or San Javier? Glad you are well! Let's keep keep in contact.

Hi ...so happy for you guys and the progress you have made. Today my surgeon changed my date from 6/30 to 6/28....excited and nervous. Was to start my pre op diet 10-12 days before surgery ...so that means today for 12 days...oops lol

Thanks for all of the updates, post ops!! Soon the rest of us will be joining you! I'm on Friday and just crossed the -20 pound mark from my personal and then surgeon-imposed pre-op diets. It feels so good, I can't wait for Friday!!

I have a little pain especially trying to get down those big antibiotic. The hospital was the older, Medica Ebor! I felt defiantly culture shock! It reminded me of just a doctors clinic we have in the eastern delta region of Arkansas. However, I think the doctors did a very good job. So far so, so good. I haven't started worrying about protein or anything until I get back home. I'm just trying to take in enough fluids to stay hydrated. Yes, lets keep in touch to discuss with each other our progress and our questions. Thanks for giving me the words to help me through. Cheers! To our new healthier lives! Have a safe trip home today!

Day 12 post op. The puree diet is still very much an adventure. They want me to eat 2 - 4 ounces 6 times a day. That's 1/4 - 1/2 cups. Cottage cheese no problem. Tuna salad big problem. It is true that you don't know what food your changed stomach is going to tolerate. The hardest part is trying to get the hydration in - I was thrilled to find out that sugar free Popsicle and jello count towards water totals. Had no issues with boiled eggs - pureed of course - was concerned because I read alot of posts saying that people had issues with eggs.

Also when I couldn't find how to puree hot dogs I went to a speech therapy web site and they had tons of suggestions for all kinds of meats.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

RNCurtin Hope you find some more palatable foods! Thanks for the Speech Therapy website suggestion. I would not have thought of that. My surgery is the 25th. Can't wait!

Just did a weight check this morning. I've lost another 4 pounds since surgery. That's a total of 24 pounds since June 2!!! So excited!! Doing good on puréed diet so far. I did drink my water a little to fast last night and had a dumping incident. Not fun.

Just waiting at hospital for my sleeve. Surgery in about an hr. Please say a prayer for steady hands

good luck. I check in at 1030 so leaving home soon.

Good luck Patricia and Stacy!

Good luck Patricia and Stacy.

I am leaving for Mexico in the morning and surgery tomorrow afternoon. I cannot believe the day is almost here. Very nervous and questioning myself. Prayers appreciated.

I had a band to sleeve revision 3 weeks ago at Hospital Mi with Dr Lopez. Not having US follow up after surgery is a HUGE disadvantage now. Lots of questions and concerns go unanswered. If I could do it over....
