Has anyone experienced a red rash around your abdomen after sleeve surgery. I noticed it the day I came home from the hospital, which was Sunday and it has gradually gotten worse. It's very itchy and irritating.

You need to call your Dr., you may be allergic to the blood thinner it will make your skin itch.

Morphine (or coming down off it) makes your skin itch, too.

Has your scratching made it worse?

It might be a yeast infection from the antibiotics. I had that when I had my hysterectomy. It itches like crazy. I would call your doctor and schedule an appointment for a check-up.

The morphine caused my face and chest to have a rash. And caused a headache. After I started on lortab, it went away.

I have a bad rash under my boobs and around the side where my bra sits. It itched bad in the hospital and has.not been itchy since I've been home and shower everyday. My doc said it's probably from the binder. Who knows. All I know is I can't wait for it to go away. Feels weird. Hah.

I didn't have morphine as far as I know and I've taken lortab before. I was thinking maybe the binder but not sure. It is soooo aggravating on top of everything else. I too will be so glad when it's gone. Hoping Benadryl will work.

My doc said to wear the binder over a shirt or tank top.

I don't feel comfortable not wearing it. Scares me getting up and sitting down, and riding in the car. Eeek. I just wear it over my tank top now. (I wear a tank top everyday) and it's been fine. I don't know why I didn't think about it before my doc suggested it.

It's not "required" by all doctors. Mine prefers you to wear one for two weeks Bc it makes coughing, sneezing, vomiting, getting up and down and side sleeping less painful. Keeps everything nice and tight. Without it I felt like all of my guts were gonna spill out into the floor. Lol

Same. My doc told me Monday at my post op appt I could stop wearing it if I want. I just chose not too, cause I like the support it gives me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
