that's a good idea ! i did that today i put two scoops of Protein in my shake that gives me 60 even tho it taste gritty its just better to get it over with and not have to worry about it later but imma try 3 scoops next time , do you mix different Protein together ?

is anyone else having a hard time getting in there protein intake and Water ? i sure am and i am 14 days post op

I am 8 days out and it was a struggle at first but now im getting much better at it. I determined that if I used 3 scoups of powder in 16 oz of milk once that was finished I would have gotten in 90 grams of protein for the day. Thats done at nighr beforw bed so I can start on it first thing in the am. I keep a water bottle that totals 50 oz of Water ans still make sure I have 1 G2 during the day. It's work but its possible. Hope I gave you some helpful ideas on how to push it

I'm three weeks out and I feel like I've gone backwards. I wasn't sick at all the first two weeks on Clear Liquids. Then, I started all liquids for weeks 3 & 4 and I'm constantly nauseous. Water , crystal lite, anything but unsweet tea with splenda gives me horrible heartburn. I'm on priolosec and he gave me zofran for the nausea. I guess I need to go back to clear liquids for a few days. Anyone else having nausea issues? I was so happy I felt so good post op now I feel gross. Blech!

See if your doctor will prescribe Carafate. It will coat your esophageal tract and make drinking easier

I have tried both. For me chugging equals a dump every time.

Thank you, Miss Trish! I will ask him about it. I'm willing to try anything at this point because it's getting to where I can't lay down at night because of the heartburn.

My April Buddies,

I hate to hear of any difficulties anyone is having. I do get nauseated after eating and especially after drinking the Protein. It makes me feel really bad. Not so much after drinking Water. I was able to "eat" some last night and it went down pretty good.. I out eat in parenthesis because I can only get down a tiny amount. But I am thankful for that!

Gixxergirl please take care if yourself!! You've been doing so good, I pray it all corrects itself.

I'm officially 2 weeks post op today and this is the first day I have felt more like me... I'm talking about from a mental standpoint. I have been so depressed.

Found that out last night in accident. Reverted to an old habit and chugged and felt miserable!

8 days post OP and yesterday and today I have had TERRIBLE incisional pain in my main incision. It's not infected I had a nurse look at it, but I swear there is a hot searing knife in my belly. It has gotten so bad that even the slightest movement puts me in tears. Anybody experiencing this. I was off narcotic pain meds for days 6-7 and now I'm back in because I can't stand it:(

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry about your pain. My incisions, more so the main incision, is more tender than it had been but no swelling or redness. According to my Dr yesterday I'm healing fine.

Your mention of a hot seating knife makes me think you should be having the site checked, sounds like you are? Praying that it's nothing serious. *hugs*

The same thing happened to me about 13 days post op. I felt like a hot poker was in my main incision. The dr said it was from my nerves healing. Stayed for a couple of days and hasn't bothers me since. I am now 3 weeks out

The actual incision is healthy, just very painful.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
