13 + months post op, entering maintenance (pics)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Although I spend most of my time over at MyFitnessPal, I still check in here on a regular basis. I am done purposely losing, and attempting maintenance, using the MyFitnessPal app and website. It's a HUGE reason behind my successful weight loss. I just finsihed the Whole30, where I lost my last 5 lbs and spent a month eating 100% clean- no dairy, grains, or legumes, just whole foods. Along the way I learned how to read labels. During maintenanceI am focusing on eating "clean", and following a mostly "paleo" diet, avoiding highly processed foods in favor of healthy fats, vegetables and fruit, lean meat, eggs, no artificial sweeteners, limited full fat dairy, and eating organic when available and affordable. I do kickboxing, Zumba, and C25k. I am looking into starting strength training because with all the shoveling snow I have had to do lately, it's obvious I lost more than fat.

I hope everyone continues to do well- I am so glad I did it. It saved my life.

Stats:

HW: 302

SW: 272

GW: 160

Great story. Inspiring and helpful. You look great! Thanks for sharing how you lost those last five. Had my sleeve 3 weeks ago, so am a long way from my last five. Currently 208. Gosh need to lose 70 some more until I get to my last 5. Hope it comes off fast but healthfully.

I too rely on my "my fitness pal" app. I keep a daily food and exercise diary on the app. I also keep track of my weight and measurements. Using this I am able to hold myself accountable. I would recommend everyone to at least try using it.

As for me and exercise......I finally upgraded my treadmill today. I've been walking at 4mph for 60-75 minutes daily. But now that I have a crosstrainer treadmill I'll be able to tone more. Also, I am looking forward to the cushioned deck.

I started this journey at 289lbs Nov. 2012. By August of 2013 I was down to 266lbs when I started my pre-op diet. I lost another 15lbs during that time. The morning of my surgery Aug 26th, 2013 I weighed in at 251. Today I weigh 195.

Good luck to us all.

Absolutely amazing. Just stunning! I'm down to 304 preop and I entertained the goal of 140 but then I think I'll never do that. I'm 45 so in reality, 160 or 170 is probably more realistic. I imagine you feel great! Congrats! Very inspiring!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
