Heck no! No complications & I don't have to worry about it getting removed in a couple years. 100 lbs down in less than 8 months. Love my sleeve

Lapbands are mostly going out of favor due to complications such as erosions and not-as-good results re: weight loss. I can give more info later; maybe tomorrow. Depending on your BMI or other co-morbidities, it may actually be contraindicated; the sleeve or bypass might be a better option. As above, many former LapBand patients convert to the sleeve.

Some surgeons still do the band, but in a recent medical conference of 4,000 bariatric surgeons (and some counselors, nutritionists, etc.), the LapBand is less well received or done these days. I'll try to post to this again tomorrow should I get time.

Weigh all factors, then do what feels right for you. In any case, here's praying for a safe journey and no complications next week or after.

Nope, not for one second. I did my research and knew the band was not for me. Too many complications.

Never in a million years! So much research for 10 years! Very happy with 2 sleeves in this household.

My program won't do lap bands anymore. I went into this thinking bypass but then learned about sleeve.

I was sleeved back in October and I love it. Its given my kids a healthy active mommy. My husband has a healthy wife. I have energy and zest for life again!

Love my sleeve!

When I first began this journey - I looked into the lap band and the sleeve. I went with the sleeve. My decision was confirmed when I was at my pre-surgery class and 2 ladies there were having the lap band removed because of complications. There were only 4 people in the pre-surgery class - 2 of us getting the sleeve and the other 2 were revisions from lap band to bypass. I had no doubts after that and have LOVED being sleeved!

I wish that I did NOT get the lapband. I am a revision patient and have been so successful with the sleeve. I think the lapband was maybe good when it first came out(there wasn't much history with it) but now it seems to fail so many miserably. Unable to eat healhy foods, complications with slippage/fills/erosion. The best thing that I have done for myself is have it removed and get the sleeve. I am so very happy and you will be too!

I was going to get the band, but my husband was not on board at all.. he had some coworkers who have had it done with very little success and lots of issues. I was surprised that he was very supportive of the sleeve. I had not even thought of any other type of surgery before. I am happy that I did my research and decided to go with the sleeve. Best decision ever!!!!! :)

Oh Hell no..LOL..sorry but I watched several of my co-workers have to go thru a second and third surgery and made up my mind that this would not be my choice...Sleeve it was and very glad I made this choice...45 pounds down and looking forward to the rest of it coming off without issue.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
