I have to share this. I finished 5 day pouch test today and weighed in at a 6.4 pound loss. This proves to me that diet is everything in weight loss. I regained 33 pounds while vigorously exercising 5 days per week. This does not mean I will stop my exercise routing for health, toning and help with loss but diet is the real key. I am going to seriously consider the 5:2 diet to help with get the rest of the weight off and help maintain. Another plus has been a feeling of power over constant carb craving and the power of portion control. Happy to be back on this site.

Ok so I started the 5 day pouch test yesterday. Surprisingly it wasn't that hard in terms of hunger but have had a headache this morning which I think is a withdrawal symptom from all of the sugar. That's ok with me. I ate or more accurately drank 4 cups of Soup yesterday which added up to a lot of carbs for the day (I had tomato soup and split pea). Ironically I got a letter in the mail from my bariatric surgeon that its time to schedule an appointment. This I took as a sign that its time to conquer this weight gain. I would dread to go back a failure. Going for a nice long walk now. Will check back again soon.

I am 16 months out. I never made goal I still need to lose 40 pounds . My lowest weight was 173 in August. I had gained weight and was at 187 at my dr. Visit last week. Needless to say my surgeon challenged me to lose 10 pounds in two months. Told him I thouj my sleeve was broken. Turns out I have been grazing. I kept saying few snack won't hurt me. They have killed me and Im so mad at myself. I'm going to Paris in June and want to look fab.
This week went back to basics and have lost 6 pounds since monday. I have gone back to basics as everyone on here suggested and it works. 1 Protein shake in morning , greek yogurt for lunch. Lean protein for snack when get home from work. Additional lean protein around 7 pm. Also have gotten in all my Water something I never did before. Keeping my carbs at 20 grams and my protein at 90. I am so grateful. That I have this forum to see that I'm not alone on this journey

I agree The Biggest Loser is TV not reality. They are working out 6 hours a day with the best trainers in the world and do not have the distractions of a job, kids, husband, house cleaning, etc. But I like to see the last chance workouts with everybody moaning and groaning and sweating. I would DVR the show each week and get on my elliptical and workout while watching it pushed me at the same time Bob or Jillian were pushing the others. One of the posters above talked about how hard it is to start a workout routine. It can be but don't assume you have to get up at the crack of dawn and go to the gym. I actually do not like gyms at all. I started by walking outside (now jogging 3-4 miles, 3x per week). I also have dvds that challenge you with hand weights I mix it up and do a different one 1-2 times per week. There are also so many free on demand workouts on cable tv. Make it easy for yourself to start.
