Super bowl Sunday and will be surrounded by food. Surgery Tuesday, I am allowed 4-6 oz of lean meat and green veggies. One final challenge before the big day. The scale has not budged for 3 days even though I have followed my pre-op diet, makes me want to have the chip and dip, but I won't. Tomorrow is a major house cleaning and I will get the time of my surgery. Not sleeping to good cause my brain is going in circles. Hope all Feb. surgery guys and gals are hanging in there, sending best wishes to all.

7:00 am tomorrow!!!! getting packed , prep done and wasn't that bad. Well guys, I can't believe it is actually happening. It's been a long time getting here and I will let you know as soon as I can how it went. Bought a really cute long black and white skirt that fits right under my boobs instead of my waist, have a black sweater on top, this way I don't have to worry rubbing on the incisions. Son and family sent love and kisses, have wonderful support!!! My new body awaits me. (stomach is growling!)

Well, here I am, back from the hospital since Thursday night. The operation went well, scar tissue from ventral hernia caused a little extra surgery, and the hiatal hernia was the initial pain. Now the pain is on the left side with a huge bruise, it's the only place I need to support when I walk.. Getting in and out of the chair and bed are quite painful. I can't sleep on my side and I'm not a back sleeper.

Did not have JP drain, had to wear Ted hose and pneumatic leg compressors (I love them), had a foley catheter, pulse OX, cardiac monitor, oxygen and morphine pump (loved that to.) There were a number of issues at the hospital but none interfered with my stay.

Lortab is a liquid vicodin that I had the last day, It put me to sleep for 2-3 hours, wish I had some at home but was given Norco 10-325. Hard to take the pills so crushed them for 2days. Am shaky, tired, sometimes dizzy but get up to walk around the house which helps, you must remember to take a nap, you need it!

I am taking full liquids without a problem as long as I recognize I am satisfied, I cannot eat until I am full. Have not had dumping just overwhelming fullness and nausea. Lots of gas and burping, very uncomfortable. VERY IMPORTANT, when you start passing gas - do not trust it. Diarrhea comes with the fart.

Had pea Soup and Jello yesterday and clam chowder today, delicious!!!.

For those of you worried about negative responses from friends, don't. I posted the whole thing on FB and e-mail and have had nothing but support and love back. So to all having the surgery soon It's not easy or comfortable, It's not over in a day, but take it a day at a time and we will make it together.

Forgot to add DON'T weigh yourself. You will have a lot of IV fluids and be puffy. I weight 7 pounds more after surgery than before so don't do that!!!!!!!

I am 64 and had my RNY bypass on Nov 18th... only regrets is that I did not do it years ago! I am feeling great, down 58# and doing things I haven't been able to do in 30 years! Off most meds and finding my way back to being active through Yoga, swim class for oldies, and excerise I never thought I would ever remotly like! and NOW DO

The surgery was not bad at all, pain very little , just for a few days... Proteins and fluids are hard to meet requirements at first but trust they will get better with each week! Stalls are frustrating, but everyone seems to have them.. I like to think it is my bodies way of taking a minute ( or two weeks Lol), to catch up with the weight loss

Please add me as a friend, If I can help in anyway...would love to help support ya! Many people have helped me daily along the way... Dyan from Ohio

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
