Well, one year ago today I was introduced to Mistress Band, 60 pounds lighter, down from a 46" waist to a 36". Shopping in the "normal" section and having to buy slim cuts shirts. Not getting winded when I walk a couple of miles, riding farther, faster and longer are just a few of the changes. First time I have made it through the holiday season without a substantial gain, let alone a loss. Funny thing is, I just feel like I am starting to understand my band after a year, I have another 40 pounds to loose, but I'm in no hurry. I am enjoying my life, and while WLS has not solved all my problems, it has made a substantial difference in the quality of my life.

Happy Bandiversary, Terry, and thank you for all the support you show us on this site. My surgeon says it takes an average of nine months to understand one's band, so you are spot on there!

Well done on your loss, and (more importantly), your attitude.

Very Well said..I can definitely relate...you are well on your way to a new lifestyle - totally in all ways. And yes, it does take a year or more...I'm still learning some things....but I'll never look back!

I've burned those bridges.

Congratulation, love your posts and all the inspiration you have given, so glad you mentioned it takes a year, I've been banded 9months and I still feel I have so much to learn.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
