Did the pre op testing yesterday. I've been doing a 1200 calorie diet for 2 weeks now. Now I start on a more restricted diet: v8, oatmeal, cottage cheese, Soups, sugar free Jello, Protein Shakes. I can only eat those foods but I have to get in 80 grams of Protein. Upper GI on Saturday. Anyone else in this stage of the process?

Hi khelm, congratulations on your surgery date -- coming right up! I was banded 11/05 and I am very happy with my decision. What a great way for you to begin the new year! Best wishes...

I have banding on the 6th. My pre-op diet is a low carb one.

I will say I have had some difficulty sticking to it wholeheartedly, but on the up side I have found some high Protein low carb combinations I really enjoy! Also I am eating less... A lot less and I am more conscientious of what and how much I am eating of all food. This makes me feel like I am making progress :)

I ordered the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shakes, but apparently not soon enough they are suppose to be here tomorrow. I'm looking forward to trying those. What kind are you using?

It's crazy to me how many carbs even healthy food like fruits and vegetables have in them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
