My surgery is scheduled for January 24th and I'm getting together all the things I will need. My doctor says to take a chewable Multivitamin after surgey and I just wanted to know if you all might know of a good one to take. Also any other suggestions for supplements would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought all the Bariatric Advantage Vitamins and dislike the large chewable chalky multivitamin. I found an excellent liquid multivitamin and compared it to BA multivitamin, and this has more Vitamin content than BA. It is called Nature's Plus Source of Life Gold liquid.

I go to a Compound Pharmacy where I live (they make different compounds). The Pharmacist is very knowledgeable and said I need nothing but this. However, I still take the chewable Iron, Vitamin D and the B-12 shot.

I looked online and this liquid multivitamin is available online.

I actually take Vitafusion Gummy Multivitamins. If I take something with zinc I'll become extremely nauseated. This is the only one I can find without zinc. My nutritionist said it was acceptable and I didn't need anything else.

The chewable multivitamins would make me gag after a few days...as soon as I started chewing it created this chalky dust in my mouth and that was all she wrote. I now take Alive multivitamins and my nutritionist approved...you can get them at The Vitamin Shoppe and I think even Walmart and Walgreens are starting to sell them.

Believe it or not...Flintstones chewable multi-vitamins. They're not too big and not too chalky. My doctor said they were fine but of course check with your doctor before trying any of our suggestions.

Caution, do not buy a lot when you are deciding. You may not like something. I was able to give my husband the BA multivitamins as the chalky taste doesn't bother him. I think they are too pricey also.

I also take the flintstones....they are comparable to the chewable Centrum that was recommended but i had trouble finding.

I bought the Bariatric Advantage Vitamins online and they were YUCKY and I also tried the Calcium from them and they were YUCKIER...lol....just my opinion....i know some people are okay with them....

I just go to CVS and get them now....alot cheaper!

Good luck with it all!

Bariartic Advantage sends out samples. I take those and Nature's Made fish oil Gummy. Ask your dietitian for their thoughts.

Good luck with your journey. I love the band and it was the best thing I did for me.

First and foremost...LISTEN to your Dr.'s recommendations....and everyone here has made good suggestions for "Chewable" Vitamins....

I do NOT condone the following to anybody, but it is example of one getting to know YOUR band,,,,I am almost 3 years out, and these are the Vitamins I take every morning.....I do NOT Crush any of them.....

And of course, I would never assume to know someone else's band, nor can anyone assume to know mine....

Again, this is ME....and I know MY band....eventually over time you will get to know yours...what you can and cannot do, eat, etc

/

Follow your Dr.'s directions...it is important to take "Chewable" vitamins, as well as chewing your food properly and efficiently....

I've tried a few different chewable brands to find one I like. My nutritionist said to make sure that it contains Thiamin (B vitamin). One of the chewables I tried didn't have it. I found that I can tolerate the taste after a day or two. You just have to keep trying until you find one you like. Everyone has different tastes, so one person might say something is terrible, but you might like it. You will find the same things with the Protein shakes.

Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
