What's his sorry excuse for not working? It's not easy supporting a household with six kids including special needs children on one income. Please tell us he at least cooks, cleans, and does laundry!!

LindaFromFlorida has good points and I agree with her a lot.... But you fell out of love two years ago and that's a mighty load to carry.

I decided 6 yrs ago that I was going to to take a yr off work and school hen Bella got really sick. She was on a ventilator for 5 mos on and off. He had to have 7 surgeries to repair her throat. Ok that being said, he quit his job and said that if I wasn't going to be working... Then he needed to take some time off. Thinking he would at least be at the house with the other kids so I could be at the hospital with Bella, I said ok fine. He's never had a job since then!!

Yes he cooks, but doesn't clean. My 19 ur old daughter just moved home and keeps the house spotless and goes to school full time. Makes me feel bad. But what do I do? I'm one person! I'm in school , and working full time! I feel like I'm goin to explode. And as for falling out of love with him, pretty sure that's the case! Now it's getting to the point that I can't stand to see him even walk into the room! Seriously?!?

Anyway sorry for the long response!

He might just be one less mouth to feed and you can stretch a pot of Beans further.

I have an update, posting it in rants now. I know I'm gonna catch a lot of crap for it from some, but just know I'm ok with my decisions!

If someone judges you, the hell with them. This forum is for helping each other and being supportive. Life is short. Children are forever. I have been through harder times than anyone can imagine, and people would say Oh My God if I spoke. I choose not to because happiness is mine now. If you had a marriage you would not be here with your rants. God Bless.

Be proud of her and supportive, and of course love her. What more could we ask for? Best wishes to a healthier life for you both as she goes through this!

Lol I'm taking notes . Any suggestions

My wife is just starting her journey towards the sleeve

You can't imagine how much it helps to have your hubby support you. Your wife is very lucky. My hubby has been with me every step of the way and I am so grateful. He has gone to meetings and appointments and held my hand along the way. He took me to the hospital and stayed by me the whole time. He brought me home today and put me to bed. He has carried me juice, Protein shake, and made beef broth for me. I feel very loved and supported. Make this man your role model and your wife will do great! I have friends going through this alone and it is not easy for them. You can make a difference for her.

Just listen when she wants to discuss different aspects of the journey. It doesn't matter what she wants to talk about, just listening is worth it's weight in gold. Also, don't try to have every answer, but research it with her, try to be a part of her journey so she doesn't feel so alone! When she is losing weight, praise her accomplishments, even if it is only 1 lbs loss. We wanna know someone else notices. (Not just us and the scale!) tell her she is beautiful, and SHOW her!!

Your already on a great start just asking how you can be there for her! She's a lucky lady and you can tell her we all said so!!! :) good luck on y'all's family journey!!! :) look forward to hearing more from you!

If you have a good marriage this should not apply to you. Treat your wife like a queen and she will treat you like her king. A good marriage is wonderful. My husband could weigh anything and I would adore him, and vice versa. Do not let those words scare you! God Bless.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
