Fort Worth Buddies?

Recommended Posts

Thanks don! I will be trying to go to them, but was really hoping to find someone to carpool with. Guess I gotta go to see who comes from ft worth so we can take turns driving!

I have heard excellent things about Thinspirations and look forward to joining!

Shall- yes I was so tired after being out with hubby for less than 2 hours, then cleaning house, getting flower beds cleaned out and setting up workout room. Took 2.5 hour nap!

All week this week I was tired a lot at work, think it was from extended tom. Sorry don :/

Before that I was okay energy wise, so hope it was just because of that and my energy comes back this week ;)

Are you guys taking Biotin (10,000) and B12? Biotin is part if the b family and has an energy aspect, I think that is helping my energy, but my hair gets really greasy on day 2... I think that is also a side effect of the biotin

I started Biotin dots Monday, forget to take some meds on the weekends, that was one of them! I haven't noticed my hair yet, but it's only been 5 days since I started it, will have to see what happens. Hoping my nails will get stronger at least!

I have been taking B12 since out of hospital! For some reason I have only forgotten that one a few times on the weekends!

No exercise yet just do to schedule.

For Breakfast usually an egg, sometimes oatmeal less than 1/2 cup and sometimes nothing

lunch chicken salad or thin deli turkey ( the lil rounds one that about the sz of pepperoni) and cheddar cheese thin thin slice

dinner almost every night green Beans, baked chicken and one night I had fish

In between meals when I'm Hungry I try and get a Protein shake....but I have trouble getting these down and try and drink Water

I really try for 64 oz of liquid to get down, but it is just not happening. I drink unsweetened tea or water usually get down abt 32 oz a day and maybe 1/2 of apple juice but I really have not had one of those since liquid stage.

I have had a low fat cheese square for snack a couple of times maybe 3 times total...

And I feel hungry all the time, I'm satisfied but within 2-3 hrs I'm hungry again...and I'm also afraid I'm over eating.

Sometimes it's just a few bites and others I can eat almost the whole plate. I measure out everything

Just confused

If it were me, I would up my liquids to 64. Only Decaf tea and add walking. I don't go to the gym but I have a fitbit and work to get 10,000 steps a day.

Hello guys! Wow what a week, so glad we have a pretty weekend before the cold sets back in again

Kudos to those of You working out!! I am getting 10k steps in 3 days a week and the other days I work to get 5-6 k. Not great but I have stuck to it for 3 weeks, and that is better than any other time I have lost weight

My lowest weight that I remember in the last 10 ish years was 239.... I have been at 240 for a week. Went down to 239.8 two days ago, but right back up yesterday... So Jo scale this morning... And lots of movement today!

I am getting almost 80g of Protein, 100oz of Water and 1000 colonies a day... Felling really good about that, but I am relying on 2 shakes a day... This week I am going to try and cut out a shake... Replace it with food.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
