Happy Turkey Day - Pass The Pie!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I hope everyone had a great holiday! I had 5 days off, thanksgiving, 2 birthdays, a company party, a friday night out with friends with alcohol, and an episode with a party size bag of peanut M&Ms over the past 10 days. I also didn't exercise or track my food, Protein or Water.< /p>

I've gained 3 lbs!! I'm not sure what came over me but I think I lost my mind! It just still seems like so much work...I just wanted to relax and enjoy my time off. However, the m&ms were me stressing over not doing anything right. I realize that now...

So today, I am back on track but feeling like crap for what I've done. Any words of wisdom??

Wow, that was a lot going on in a very short period of time -- no wonder you got stressed out! What's really great is that you are noticing everything, listening to your body. And it's telling you it doesn't like that crap. And you're not going to let this pendulum you into being "bad" for the month of December and throughout the holidays into New Years just because you had some M&Ms, etc. You are a new person with a new attitude but some of our old programming is still there. I figure every time we overwrite the brain chatter with good dialogue, such as "oh Debbie, I am so happy when I exercise!" instead of the old conversations, "should I have this, oh screw it, I'm having it," we are getting healthier. You are doing well -- just persevere. Clean out your system and know that December is a long month. This is day 2 of a whole new month. Let's be healthy and happy!

I always look at the BIG picture....what I eat now, whatever it may be, good or bad days, it is still considerably a lot less than what I used to eat before the surgery.....all day long!!!

For me, it is a new lifestyle, where my days of over eating are gone forever...... not a diet where I need to count calories, keep journals, etc,

So if I have ice cream now and then, or some other "Evil" food, it's not going to kill me.....again, I look at the Big Picture....

I'm a sucker for "Cheetos", to name but one......

I can sit back and think about how much I ate today, then these days add up to weeks, which add up to months, which becomes a lifetime......

I simply eat less, and less often.....

I know i need to be patient. That's what my nutritionist says and my doctor told me even though I only lost 3 lbs last visit that I am doing very well. That the 1st 6 months is the hardest! so I am trying to be patient. It's only been 9 weeks but I just expected it to be easier...

I am back to watching my calories today and I did my 2 mile walk. I will try to focus this week and see if I can remember just to listen to my hunger and monitor my Protein and Water...

Thanks for the encouragement! i thought I was a positive person but this is even getting to me...Where is that "Green Zone"....lol

There is someone people on here that say that once you reach green zone your weight loss will be effortless after that. I hope that is true but personally don't believe it. I believe this is a diet of sorts and will be to some extent forever if I don't want to lose regain lose regain. No, I don't believe that you have to jump on the scales 2 times a day. I don't believe that you have to obcess about your food, but I sorta believe you do as well. Until the weight is gone and even afterwards, you have to watch what you eat and your activity. But you're human and will have slips. Don't let it define you. Just get back up dust yourself off and start again. I find myself punishing myself and the results are usually worse than the crime in the end. This is just the way I feel and I'm not saying anyone who believes differently is wrong.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
