I was sleeved on 10-23 and I just can't seem to get my energy back. I haven't had any problems and I am otherwise doing well but I feel tired all the time. My Protein levels have been a bit low lately since going back to work, I find it hard to eat in the allotted break time. Today I decided to add a Protein Drink back into my day even though I am a week away from eating regular food. Has anyone else experienced extreme fatigue?

Yes! You are not alone in your exhaustion! I was sleeved on 10/25 and I haven't gotten my energy back yet either. In fact, I still am having frequent episodes of being a little light headed, which is really annoying. From what everyone here has said, you do get some of your energy back eventually, so I'm hoping it's sooner than later! Good luck!

I went back to work two weeks after my surgery, and I was exhausted. I was falling asleep when watching the news and in bed by 8 p.m. most nights. It's a normal part of the process. Your body is working overtime burning all of those fat cells.

It did become better. It was a gradual process, and eventually I ended up with more energy than I could remember having.

I'm really worried about going back to my 12 hour manufacturing job. I'm on my feet for pretty much 11 of those hours and with still being on purée when I go back I worry that I will get exhausted and not Ben able to function with my family when I get home. I work from 5:30am to 6pm so I'm up at 4:45. Add in energy loss and eating habits changed and I'm not sure how it's going to go. I'm trying to prepare by packing tons of food options for my breaks but on purée it's gonna be tough. How long out was it until you got your energy spurt?

We were exhausted as well for at least 3-4 weeks. My doctor asked us to increase carbs a bit for energy. It didn't take a lot. Half a sweet potato, 1/4 c of black Beans. It was like getting a shot in the arm! So helpful. Also be sure to take sublingual b-12 a lot during the early days and sleep every chance you get.

Sleeved 10/24. For the most part I am doing okay but I am having trouble getting my sleep in sync. I seem to need to be in bed by 9:30, and I keep waking up at 4:45-5. I know, go to bed later…except that I literally CAN'T.

My PA told me yesterday that when I get back to my exercise routine (CrossFit) the energy will come back and it will be easier to sleep. I hope so. I keep thinking I will just take a nap in the middle of the day but then I forget to. Oh well.

Sometimes lack of energy is mental. When you feel tired go for a walk. The more you exercise the more energy you will have. At least that works for me. Also take your Vitamins, that helps alot.

I was exhausted weeks 3-6 and I couldn't sleep without waking up several times through the night. I wasn't uncomfortable, I felt fine, I was just pooped. NP said it was so normal and many of her patients complained of sleeplessness. She told me to take melatonin, get my butt to bed earlier and nap during the day if I could. (HA! As if.)

By 8-9 weeks out, I was fine. Back to normal. It's all good. You will be better soon.

I always know when it's time for my B12 because my energy just completely leaves and I end up crashing at the end of a day.....hard. Also, if I don't get a Protein shake in first thing in the morning I can feel a little sluggish.

I was fine by 2 to 3 months out. I like what Lipstick Lady said about comparing it to the first trimester of pregnancy. It is very similar. I was able to do what I needed to do, but if I sat down, I was out. :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
