Ow soon after vertical sleeve you can go back to work?

My doc said 2 weeks, but I went back on day 10. But I have a desk job that requires no lifting.

I realize that lifting is a problem.

I had my band removed and sleeve in same day and also a hiatal hernia repair and had surgery on Friday and went back on Tuesday and had no lifting restrictions.

I can't even imagine being off that long. I'm 7 weeks today and would I would never even know I had surgery if not for the change in food choices Iv made. Not only was I back to work in 4 days I felt like I could be and by one week out I was taking a long motorcycle ride with my hubby.

My doc requires an 8 week 5 lb lifting restriction. Even she admits that she is more strict than other doctors, but she also doesn't have patients coming back with hernias. I am a physical therapist assistant at a nursing facility, so lifting is required and there is no "light duty" option. I talked my doc into possibly letting me go back after my 6 week follow up. I am almost 4 weeks out and while I am bored at home, I know I couldn't handle the physicality of my job. I still get occasional cramps in my abdomen with certain movements, I would be afraid to lift anything.

I haven't noticed any swelling. I don't really have any pain either exactly. But I still notice that my abs are atill healing. Like when I am laying down if I try to just sit up, I can tell I shouldn't cuz there is a mild cramp, nothing serious.

Me too... I heard some people return within 5 days. I guess it depends on what you do. I am an office worker so I am really hoping to return within a week, the max 2.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
