Yes, I'm 3 days out as well. As soon as i begin to swallow ANY liquid, the pain starts. Hopefully this will subside.

The first week is the hardest and your stomach is sore and your throat is inflamed from the tubes they put down it during the surgery.

It gets easier hang in there.

Yes, the first week was hard. I had to stay in the hospital an extra day because I did not get enough liquids in.

I couldn't swallow a thing for a good 36 hours. Everything I swallowed came back up! 1 day later, I was as good as gold. Still have to remember not to gulp though. Sip, sip, sip!

It's really weird, but, I don't have to sip. I just drink normally. I wonder why???

Me too. I asked my surgeon about it on Tuesday and he said I shouldn't be alarmed. It's liquid so it's going to go right through since you don't have the holding capacity anymore.

Good to know. I was a little concerned.

I too couldn't keep anything down the first day. The Dr finally gave me a steroid shot to bring down the sleeve swelling. Made a huge difference too.

This is good to know because I've had some creamy Soups and I seem to be able to have about a cup of it before I really feel full...granted, I'm drinking it slowly. I guess it's just quickly passing through.

I haven't had the full feeling yet, but, I'm also not hungry nor have an appetite. But, I'm definately able to get down more than a couple of tablespoons. Not what I expected.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
