In a heartbeat! Im only 5weeks post op, had some small complications (STILL have a little nausea, the di di's quite often, trouble with fluid/protein intake). But, I was on a runaway train as far as my health was concerned. I lost over 75 lbs. twice and gained it back + some within 2 years :(. No regrets here!!

Although, I feel I must tell you this on a side note. I researched this surgery for about a month, and also my mom had a bypass about 6 years ago. I thought I knew enough. I really didn't though! I never thought about crazy complications. I don't know how I would feel if I ended up with a serious complication. I didn't even consider it. Now that I have talked to people that did deal with complications, I don't know how I would have dealt with it...Please be sure you do your research. This surgery does change your life and you need to know what to expect.

That being said, this has been an amazing journey, and the start line is just behind me lol

Very inspiring to read everyone's experience

Can I ask how is your hair holding up?

I'm waiting on my surgery date and more afraid of Hair loss than surgery.

I'm currently seeing Endricologist for possible for thyroid condition My hair is thinning lots, have to clean my hair brush out daily and I haven't even started my pre-op diet.

Many people lose hair but when my weight was in the life and death ballpark hairloss wasn't that important.

Excuse my language' date=' but hell no! No complications, lost a great deal since March, but eating/drinking like this for the rest of my life - just isn't me, but now it has to be sadly, so..hell no, I wouldn't do it, again.[/quote']

Is it that bad? Do you just miss being able to eat whatever you want? Would you trade that for the weight you've lost and the years you've added to your life?

Not only would I do it again, I would do it every year for the rest of my life if I had to.

Recovery from surgery was not bad, just some abdominal pain and fatigue. I've not had any nausea or vomiting or even Constipation. I've lost a good amount of weight (I'm four months out) and have discovered that someone who loves to exercise and strength train was buried inside me. I'm not spending every evening gorging on Cookies and chips and then hating myself for it. My life is getting more and more normal all the time and as a result I'm feeling much more positive and confident. As far as I am concerned, for me there has been no bad or ugly. I love my sleeve. :D

Absolutely. Only wish the sleeve had been around in 2006 when I had the band. This is so much better. I am so happy!!!

I am so freaking happy! I would absolutely do this again and again and again and again.

I was a snug size 20 five months ago. Two days ago I went out and bought size 12 pants. I can run, I can jump, I can do cartwheels again. I can keep up with ANYONE I want to and still feel great the next day. I look amazing, I feel amazing and I have found MYSELF again.

I don't care if I never eat another "normal" meal again. Hell, I had enough food for my lifetime in my first 42 years, I don't need any more for my next 42. I know that I most likely will and quite frankly, I am afraid of that.

Without a doubt yes. Totally worth it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
