8 weeks out need some advice

Recommended Posts

I'm 8 weeks out and down 50 pounds. From surgery date. I have progressed through the stages of post of diet rather well and followed to the letter. At 6 weeks I was told I can try all types of foods. So far I can tolerate anything. Raw vegetables, meats, cheese, salads, grains, rice and breads. I've not had one instance nausea or vomiting and very rarely experience pain from fullness. What concerns me is that I can eat significantly more than what most people on here state they can consume. I can get in a full 10oz lean cuisine spa meal with no issues. I'm very concerned about stretching and wonder if what I'm experiencing post op is similar to anyone else's experience. Could I have a larger than normal sleeve?

Have you called and asked your doctor or NUT?

I am similar to you. I believe it only means that we MUST control our head and head hunger without the "help" of nausea, Pain, etc. For me I am glad my recovery has been easy, but I stay away from carbs, sliders ALL THE TIME. I do not let me "miss" and consume treats. My name is Art and I am an addict.

I am similar. I'm not sure that I could handle a 10oz meal but I do avoid carbs 90% of the time. I have moments, sometimes even a day where I am not as restricted as I should have been but I have never struggled. I have consistently lost and had no plateaus so I just try really hard. I am 6 weeks out today. I make myself stop at 3oz of meat even though I probably could do another ounce. I don't eat any fruits, even though they are on my list because I can't restrict myself enough. I'm allowed crackers.... I can eat a lot of those. I mean even my bad days were a good day in my past but I just make myself stop. Maybe the Lean Cuisines are more of a slider and just kinda go thru. Maybe find an alternative?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
