Awkward question.... Yeast infection after RNY?

Recommended Posts

I am 8 days post op and a couple of days ago I thought I was coming down with a yeast infection. I thought maybe it wasn't as things flared down but tonight I think I still have one. Anyone get a yeast infection after RNY? Sorry about TMI.

The second I look at an antibiotic, I get a yeast infection. I had a TERRIBlE one after my surgery from all of the antibiotics they pumped in to me. My doctor called it "the yeast beast" because it literally ended up the whole way down my thigh! Buy some of the yeast infection capsules. They're awesome!

Thanks! That is what I was thinking. I have difficulties with antibiotics as well and pre surgery I was able to consume more yogurt which always helps. I wasnt sure if I should start over the counter capsules now or call dr to get the magic pill. LOL!! Im glad Im not the only one out there with this issue.

If could be a number of things. Like everyone says antibiotics can create yeast infections. Also... While in the hospital you would have received an IV of Vitamins. Also when you get home you're putting a ton of Vitamins into your body... In addition the more weight you lose the more you're hormones will shift and surface because the fat is no longer in the way. What happens is your body will only except so much vitamins and then dispose of the rest through your pee and for us women... vaginal discharge. The same is for your hormones.. some is disposed through your pee or discharge. This discharge will come in waves as your hormones shift or your body expells vitamins.

Think of discharge as your garbage shoot... It's actually a good thing.

I am really struggling with reoccurring infections. I am 7 months post op and have had an infection almost every month. Before the op I don't think I had 5 infections my whole life. Any ideas why this is happening?

I hope I don't have one every month. I usually get them when I take antibiotics. My dr just called in a script this morning for the what I call, "magic pill"... LOL!! Maybe talk to your doctor as to why they think they keep happening. Good luck!

Yes!! Took 3 doses of Duflucan oral to clear, now 8 months later I have another after only 2 antibiotic pills (had a little uti)....sadly I do all the yogurt & Probiotics & still got this. We don't absorb like everybody else so we have to take a little "itch" with our good & move on! I'm really picturing the Stanley Steamer Toby commercial here : ) good luck

Hi ladies..so again I thought I had yet another yeast infection but after much self examination and research I think I have what is called cytolitic vaginosis (sp)...do read up on it..since we are losing weight very rapidly our hormones are pretty imbalanced thus causing our ph balance yo fluctuate especially weeks before our periods...I decided to try something new an easy to relieve the burning and itch immediately I had comfort...baking soda! I made a paste with just baking soda n Water put some down there..threw on a panty liner and within minutes the burn and itch...gone..apparently baking soda helps with the little know condition we woman are orine to getting and often is mistaken for a yeast infection..however yeast infection therapy can sometimes aggravate the problem even more when there is no yeast Infection present....I am so happy to share this info with you but if you still feel like its something other than CV do go see your doctor. ..

Get a ten ml syringe, draw up 2.5mls of white vinegar, draw rest up in Water, insert and gently press in. It automatically changes PH and acid balance and restores to normal. A doctor tons me this years ago, and it works a treat! Of course, take the needle off.......

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
