I just read through every post in this thread over the past few days and it's made me laugh and tear up. Congratulations to all on their NSV, and for noticing and appreciating them!

Your posts have reinforced to me what a good decision this procedure and lifestyle change is. I've started a list of NSV goals inspired by all of yours!

I was cleaning out some drawers and found some khaki pants that my daughter had given me several years ago, back in my Weight Watcher days. Two pairs of size 16 and some size 14s. THEY FIT!!! ???? ????????

My friend rolls her eyes at me when I tell her oh my God I can cross my legs almost all the way around I can almost cross and tuck my foot behind my ankle. She says it's like every fat girls thing that they say after they lose weight. She wants me to take her to my doctor because she wants the surgery this year and I'm a little bit and ambivalent about the whole thing. It's all the ups and downs I don't want to see her having complications of being in pain. Maybe it's jealousy jealousy, I don't want her to have the surgery because I don't want her to feel pain. It's sweet but selfish.

I just tried the tucking the foot behind the ankle. I can do it too! Wow haven't done that since I was about 20. Lol.

NSVs

I like to take baths. It used to be that if I was in the tub, my fat would block the Water from going all the way to back. I would have to move so the Water could fill the whole tub! Now there is plenty of room. A belt that did not fit when I bought it now needs new holes drilled in it. I am going to keep using the belt because it is a very happy reminder of how much smaller I am.

Also, many people do not recognize me! What a riot!

My husband can pick me up! Actually hold me in his arms... I know he is strong, but it makes me feel like a lady. Makes me feel safe and feminine. I love it!

I now weigh less than the fake weight I put on my license years ago! Still somewhat scale related, but a big deal :)

I can now reach the clothes in the bottom, back of the washing machine tub. A big deal to me as I'm only five feet tall and used to have to get a step stool to get the last of the clothes out. I can reach them all!

I can now wear a size 12/14 dress and make everyone in a room stand at attention in aww. Doors open for me, I am treated with envy and respect. And now I am the one of the most beautiful ladies in the room and positive center of attention. And I must say I strut my 3 inch heels like the best of them while the haters just look.

Today, I wore a shirt to church that was bought in the regular ladies department, not the women's plus size department! The first time that has happened in decades! I felt amazing!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
