How about some NSVs!?!?

I went to visit my sister today and when I got into her house she said "I see you with those big ass pants on." We had a good laugh about that. So then when I get home my husband says "I see you in those BAPS (big ass pants)." He then tells me that I can't wear them anymore and he was taking me shopping for new ones this weekend. I told him I could wear them for another 20 pound lost. Needless to say he said absolutely not. We called my sister and she agreed with him. She said they would fall down so she hoped I would have on pretty undies when it did happen.

He then proceeded to demonstrate how they were bounced up in my butt. Lol! I guess I'm shopping this weekend!

That's fun! Enjoy shopping!

I went shopping today and it was the first time shopping in "normal" stores. I have a seriously hard time wrapping my head around my size. I still think I am too big for everything. At one point I had a medium on, in talbots and still felt like I should be in womans. My friend couldn't understand how I was struggling and not thrilled. Seriously bizarre ...

On a positive note I bought several really cute outfits to help me sail thru the next couple months.

My top half is small (medium) but I still wear a 16 pant because of my fat stomach. I think that's why it is hard. At only 5'3" I still feel huge in a 16. :(

I feel the same way. You put on clothes an then everyone says something like hello skinny Minnie and then you tell them that the weight loss has slowed down and they say well we can't tell. I feel bigger than I am though.

Yep that's exactly it. I just still feel like the big girl. Does that go away?

I keep thinking the next size will do it for me but not yet...

This. I think it is precisely because the loss has slowed that il finally caving and buying clothes that actually fit. So people actually notice my size and think I've lost more weight.

In truth I AM down another 10 pounds but in my head I also am still the same size. I look down and see my stomach (often bloated due to gas) and when I try to take a good picture all I notice is the lumps...

When will my head catch up? Other people can see it... Why can't I?

My head can't catch up either. My husband offered me a shirt the other night because I was cold. I said "funny""you know I can't wear your size yet" he then said what is wrong with you...there is no way that won't fit. I tried it on just to prove it wouldn't...but it did. How weird. People say great job but I just can't see it. I don't think I am being negative I just can't figure this out yet.

I'm at my primary care physician's office and in the exam room is a tiny chair with arms and the arms use to dig into the sides of my thighs since I didn't fit in the chair. Today I fit comfortably, crossed my legs, and even had room to spare between my thighs and the arms! It's a good day (even though I've been waiting forever for the doctor to come in)!

Does anyone feel weird when people say, "You look amazing!" I think wow, did I really look that bad before, or is it such a drastic change, they are trying to get used to the new me? I still see the psychologist so I can try to deal with being a 26/28 in my head and living now in the size 16 body. She said people were comfortable with what I looked like before and now I'm asking them to change how they "see" me and they might not accept it.

for me it's the word skinny ....every day someone comes in and says on my goodness, look at you skinny! I'm 5'6 and weigh 197 pounds. I'm not skinny. I'm thinner, but not skinny, stop with the skinny!!!

I understand where you are coming from but I try to look at it as affirmation that I made the right decision for me. I say thank you for every compliment and use it as motivation to continue on this journey. At the end of the day I did this for me but to have other people share in my joy is awesome.

I played in my first soccer game since high school last night. It's a co- ed league and we were short on girls so I had to play the whole game. That is 90 minutes of running around. I never would have been able to do that 70lbs ago. I will say that I can barely move today, but last night was awesome!

I agree I hate when people say that. I tell them I looked good before the weight loss I just look healthier and good at this point.

So many... I use a normal towel after I shower instead of a beach towel. I use a normal public bathroom stall instead of the handicap stall. I cross my legs all the time. I don't sweat as much. I am never out of breath. I can run up the stairs at my house instead of hanging on the banister all the way up. I'm in single digit clothing. I don't dread being in a picture... In fact I'm front and center now. So many more.... I smile all the time now!!!

This describes me perfectly!! Feels great!! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
