My! How my taste has changed!

Recommended Posts

I used to absolutely hate asparagus and I was in Aldi's and saw a big bag of it for a great price. I don't know what possessed me to buy it, but I did. I cooked it that night and discovered I love it now! I seriously can't get enough of it! I'm putting it in everything! To think, I used to live in West MI where I had a unlimited supply of fresh asparagus when it was in season and I hated it, lol!

Have your tastes changed drastically since surgery? Is there anything that you now love or have an aversion to post op?

Yes! I ate a chip the other day and the greasiness almost gagged me. chicken does not thrill me anymore either. I’ve been eating a lot of lean beef.

I like the taste of chicken when I cook it. I can't stand the taste of leftover chicken now! Before I discovered this, I had the bright idea of cooking extra chicken ahead of time and portioning it out into 4 ozs and placing it into zip lock bags to freeze for quick meals. It's a good idea, but now I can't stand the taste of leftover chicken. <_< I guess Mike can eat it?

Maybe you can use it as a base in something... Last night I took some pork tenderloin added some onions peppers and red sauce and it tasted like caittori (I kant spel)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
