Rest up and like the others have said, we're here for you in support and prayer. You're in a good place to be taken care of, allow them to do the jobs they're trained to do and make you better soon. God bless. :)

My Dr admitted me yesterday' date=' we are doing lots of tests and I will have to get a pic-line because my veins are all collapsing when they try to get an IV started. The fall really aggravated the pain and I am not able to eat. I am back on Clear liquids. I'm sorry I'm not here to support you all, I'm still in a lot of pain. They did an ultrasound of he kidneys to see how big the stones are, they did an ultrasound of my legs to look for blood clots and they did a CT with IV contrast.....I am tired.... I can't wait till I am on my feet.....take care all.

I am overwhelmed by all the supportive messages. I am still in Parkveiw Hospital and had some kind of episode the other night. The gave me a nitro patch and did blood tests. My blood pressure was very high and my heart rate. I woke up with chest pain. So I haven't had any more blood pressure problems it is actually low now. The at giving me Tylenol every 6 hours, toridol every 6, dilaudid every 3, and a fantanyl patch. They had also been giving me demerol but I had an allergic reaction.

So they also think I have a different kind of endometriosis that goes other places in the body.....so now I have to see a gyno. They are doing an endoscopic exam tomorrow and didn't do the pic line because they only do life threatening ones on the weekend. They were able to find one in my chest.

My doctor Chin has been very patient and has made sure I don't yo home before I am ready and is doing all he can to find out what is happening. At least He is a good surgeon, I think western bariatric is such an wonderful group. I really feel that they are taking good care of me.

I am just afraid to say what else can go wrong, because something else keeps happening . I just want to be better and home with my husband and kids. I am alone here most of of the time and I feel very depressed now.. I am so glad you are all here for me. I feel like I have an extended family rooting for me, I can't tell you how much all your responses have helped me.

Hugs and thanks to you all,

Kat

Kat,

This is just a bump in the road. God love ya maybe its a hill in the road lol.

So I am a nurse and if thet give you test or results feel free to ask if I don't know I will look it up. Also be proactive and ask the nurses what tests are being done you have the right to have copies of your tests results. Or ask them to write it down. They will fix whatever is wrong then you will be home soon and this will be in your past.

Relax let the medicine work and rest your body.

Will continue to pray for you!

Gentle hugs! <3 <3

Kat Glad the surgeon is keeping you until they find the cause of your anomalies. Don't let them discharge you until you have some answers. You are in the right place. If you want any phones call let me know your room number.....lots of white light and prayers coming your way .....

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
