Regain problem solved

Recommended Posts

Last Sept. Marked 2 years out for me I weighed 357lb at my referral appt...I lost a total of 50 pre op w/100 post op with 20lb regain...When my father fell ill I lost 30 but regained the 20 when he passed and I'm sure it was from greiving and depression but now after a year of his passing I need to refocus...I'm at 217 now..I would like to be between 150-160, I'm 5ft 8 so depends on how I look...I don't want to look sick if I lose to much...I had stricture at 3 months out and had the balloon procedure done twice in those first 6 months to stretch out the scar tissue and never felt better while eating anything so I began to drink with my meals to make that stuck feeling go away thinking since I had the stricture problem and never went back for the final procedure that I was forever going to have that food stuck feeling but drinking with meals would make it all better it DID!!! BUT this is why I have the weight regain I'm pretty much making my food into slushies online they call it slurry and I was keeping my stomach empty...3 weeks ago I started to do the 30 minutes before and after my meals before I drink I'll take a few sips if I have to but that is all...I had had been snacking on carbs and drinking diet soda I cut it all out..I've been keeping carb intake below 20grams no sodas only once in a while Vitamin zero...2 I've dropped 5lb so far....so now to keep the momentum going...thank u for reading my post :)

Thanks for sharing! I am four years post-op with some regain, but I'm working on it. Keep exercising, and avoid that slurry! When you set your final goal, remember to look at a healthy BMI, which is under 25. Keep it up!

thanks so much for sharing, these are things we newbies need to be aware of. Anybody that says this is the easy way out has lost their minds, it is constant work to keep doing the right thing for our bodies. The surgery is just a tool. But thank goodness you still have the tool and the knowledge to get back on track and get to where you need to be. Sending you best wishes. Again thank you for telling us how it can be.

Wow-- this is really good to know. I didn't know why we weren't supposed to drink with our meals. That will be a big change for me post op. Congrats on getting back in control!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
