I started my incline at 4% and increase by 1% each week....it takes me about 60 minutes to do the 5 miles walking and running, weights it just depends on what I'm doing for my upper body I use 5 to 20 pounds and legs I go up to 50 to 80 pounds, 12 to 15 reps and I go into the sauna 15 to 30 minutes just depends on how I feel. You have to set up a program that you're comfortable with. When toning use light weights and do a lot of reps per set and get at least 30 minutes of cardio. You have to listen to your body and push yourself...set goals each week.

Thanks for the information.... started a routine tonight at the gym that mixes it up on the treadmill with speed/incline. it was a workout!! LOVED IT!

I only do strength training/weights every other day.... that what the coach at the YMCA suggested. I hit the steam room for 15 min, sauna for 15 and the hot tub for pure relaxation for 15 min!

I fret all about my walk off the pounds dvds! Thanks for the reminder' date=' I'm gonna pull them out!!!![/quote']

I use the walking videos all of the time unless I'm on workout restrictions like I am right now having to keep both feet on the hound.

16 laps in the pool, wanted to do more, but for some reason I get sea sick if I do too much. I never had this problem before surgery.

3weeks post op, down 30 pounds, & not cleared for any sort of weight or resistance training. But, yesterday did 45 minutes of Water aerobics & today, an hour of chair yoga. I have MS and haven't been able to exercise like this in a long time. 30 pounds makes a difference. Tomorrow back to water aerobics.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
