What Exercise Did You Do Today?

Recommended Posts

We've replaced sitting at home in front of the TV every night with going to the local YMCA and working out/swimming.... all 3 of us!! Going to Zumba for the first time tonight....cant wait! then meeting up with hubby (my daughter is out of town with her school group till Sat) and working out then swimming. We both feel much better....and I must say we're a little more frisky after our workouts too!!

LOVE THE GYM! (lol)

Walked and jogged the neighborhood. First 5k in 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous. I will be walking lots, but I'm feeling pretty proud just doing it. Hopefully by next spring ill be able to run one without stopping.

So proud of you!! I was planning on a 5k in Charleston, SC April 6th ... but I have to work instead! But I will be more than ready for next years 5k!! hopefully at goal and can actually RUN!

5 miles on the treadmill uphill, weight circuit, and sauna

I have a question for you.... what incline do you use? how long does it take you to do 5 miles? what weights do you do and how long in the sauna....(have you tried the steam room as well?)

Sorry to be asking so much... but I could use the help in getting my routine in place.

I started my incline at 4% and increase by 1% each week....it takes me about 60 minutes to do the 5 miles walking and running, weights it just depends on what I'm doing for my upper body I use 5 to 20 pounds and legs I go up to 50 to 80 pounds, 12 to 15 reps and I go into the sauna 15 to 30 minutes just depends on how I feel. You have to set up a program that you're comfortable with. When toning use light weights and do a lot of reps per set and get at least 30 minutes of cardio. You have to listen to your body and push yourself...set goals each week.

I do 20-25 minutes on a recumbent bike, then the biggest loser on xbox for about 36 minutes. I log the biggest loser as low impact aerobics lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
