Every one is different. Many ppl have issue with chicken. Sugar is an item to be cautious of. Eat slow and Any new food after surgery take a small test bite,.chew it well and wait 5 min. You should know right then if its working or not. You'll feel the pressure. Waiting can help you avoid gettting sick and worse pain.

I can't eat pork. It hurts like hell, even pureed it hurt. Now I had some tuna and I was surprised I was fine.

The other thing to remember is having help with solids, we shouldn't drink n eat or we will slow our weight loss. But use something wetish / ketchup, avacoto, tomatoes, dressing with meat makes digestion easier. I'm just starting solids pureed and my family eats smashed coliflour instead of potatoes, I am able to puree some meat with that for a meal. Follow the rules, they are given for a reason and you'll be glad you did. Best of luck.

Soda is recommended as something we should never drink again, but others say they have had it. Debate is whether it strectches out pouch and it is empty calories and diet soda is bad for cravings and caffeine is bad for bones. Like everything there are conflicting reports on what one can have and not have. I think what you will and not be able to have will be individualized. So far I can handle anything I have tried except if it has too much sugar (greater than 10 g sugar, stupid greek yogurt got me). But I have not tried fried foods, pizza etc any real unhealthy junk food from before, so who knows how I will react to those. Plus what you react badly to now changes over time. But to stay healthy and maintain weight loss it might be important to consider what you eat and keep junk food, swwets, soda etc to a minimum once you are able to tolerate them again(don't believe in total depravation) a real mimimum.

Just my two cents worth, not worth that much LOL

I have not identified a single thing that I can't eat but...I try to eat healthy so there are a number of things that I used to eat pre-op that I haven't even tried to eat post-op. There isn't anything that I can't do (after recovering from the surgery) and a LOT of things that I can do now that I couldn't do before. You're gonna love the new you!!

I am able to eat tortillas. I bought corn tortillas and made a quesadilla with Lofat cheese and canned chicken. It was good. I used the taco sized tortillas.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
