How Many Guys Are On This App

Recommended Posts

Im in Shreveport. Did 22 years in army and after retiring and working in office the weight "exploded" onto me. Highest weight 291. Surgery weight 282. Current weight 248 @ 4weeks postop. No more hbp, cholesterol, prediabetic. Probably no more sleep apnea. I "fit" in airplane seats again. I breathe SO much better! Sex drive has picked back up. There's very little "bad" about the surgery. Can't eat a burger or pizza which isn't so bad! I chose RNY because there was only going to be one cut on me! I wanted success and not messing around with bands and all.

I'm READY!!!

Met with the surgeon last week and February 22nd can't get here soon enough. My last official class for the 3 month program was Friday. The bariatric surgery review board will meet the Thursday after Christmas and discuss all possible patients.

As of Friday I had successfully lost 36 pounds which I am VERY proud of!!!!!!!!

I'm currently preparing and tasting various kinds of clear Liquid Protein options so I know what I will be able to handle during my clear liquid phase.

My motivation has been 6 preop photos that I had my wife take before I began this journey. I keep them in my bedside table and view them EVERY morning and night. I will NEVER let myself look like that again.

Thanks you all for listening. I wish everyone much success.

And most importantly...being a loser can make you feel like a winner if the company is proper!!!!!!!!

Jeff

Hi everybody. 30 years old, married and a father of a 7 year old girl. highest weight 450lbs. Weight at surgery was 408.6. Surgery was 12/18/12. I've got way too many reasons to list as to why I got the surgery. Besides from being excessively overweight, my health is very good and I didn't want that to change. I am from Toronto Ontario Canada. Nice to finally meet the guys on this forum.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
