I had my surgery 9/27/13 at IU North in Carmel, Dr McKenna was my Dr...... Surgery was 6 1/2 hours long came home the 29 th doing well. Can't eat scrambled eggs!! Having left side pain, wondering if this is normal 2 weeks post op?

From everything I've hear and read left side pain is completely normal. As far as the eggs everyone has diff intolerance Some can't tolerate beef or chicken. I wouldn't be too concerned :).

I'm in Muncie!! I have jumped through all the hoops and I'm waiting for Medicaid approval. I am an IU north patient, Dr. Selzer. I started my journey at Ball Bariatric in Muncie and decided the lap band wasn't for my... I'm a RNY kind of girl! I attend support meetings in Muncie still. My only complaint is I feel like I was left in the dark most of my journey about my specific requirements. I has to be pushy to get them!

I'm so angry right now. The insurance lady can NOT get my paperwork right! All she has to do is send a PA form with my fax. She has messed it up twice now. I'm driving there tomorrow, I don't know what else to do.

Washington :) its only 3 hours for me when traffic is bad but I always assume it will take 3 hours so I'm not late to my appts :)

I am in Washington also! I'm going back through older posts in hopes of finding a support group locally. A friend of mine and myself are currently in the process with St. V in Carmel. Would love to chat some more with you!

I'm trying to figure out who she is.. I know EVERYONE in this little town but I don't quite recognize her by her profile picture. She looks familiar but it takes me talking to someone anymore to remember who they are by name. Lol

Hello my fellow HOOOSIERS!

I am preparing to have my surgery on the 2oth of this month - I am going thru St. Vincent in Carmel with Dr. Evanson...

I have my pre-op and nutrition class next Tuesday, I believe it's a 5.5hr class.... I am getting excited and a little nervous...but the excitement out-weighs the nervousness.....

I live in Indy but I am from Vincennes.....

Anyone else have Dr. Evanson and how long did your surgery take...I saw on one of the tpost that it took someone 6.5 hrs...I thought they told me it would be no more than a 2hr surgery without complications (which I am trusting there will not be any! hahaha)

Would love to chat more about everyone's journey!!!!

Evanson normally take a hour for surgery. Mine took a hour and so did my husband's. Evanson is great. You might have a lunch break during your nutritional class. Bring something to drink. I think my class took longer. But I had someone who was asking a bazillion questions..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
