Lol ok seriously though. Give me a run down of your day what you're eating and drinking and doing

Lol. Okay, usual day for me:

*Wake up, have half a Protein shake

*Do 25 ad sit ups with the Ad Roller ($20 @ WalMart)

*Walk the dog, 15 min walk

*Lunch I have canned tuna, Spicey Chai I believe it is called, I can is 21grams of Protein

*Do WII Fit, it makes exercising so much fun, never feels like I'm exercising. Usually 20-40 mins

*Dinner I make the hubby his full course meal, and when I say full course boy do I mean full course lol. My dinner is usually a chicken ceaser salad, or a creek salad, or spicy tuna, turkey meal balls with shredded cheese on top, or something similar.

*In evening I will have some kind of snack, varies from a couple sips of diet soda, or a sugar free pudding, or two chips with helluva a good dip. It is always my reward for the day.

*Also on evening I do 25 more sit ups, and if I have the energy 15 mins on WII fit, and hop in bed.

*When in bed I always make sure to have two things, first being my Camelbak Bottle filled with ice and Water, and my little five pound weight. As I'm watching tv I take the five pound weight (you can use lighter) and one arm at a time I do 10 side lifts, them front, then side, totaling 30 for each arm. All that why lying in bed. If I wake up in night I always take a few sips of Water and go back to sleep.

*I do go out to eat with friends and family and always stick with the kids menu, or I nibble off a friends plate.

*When I feel the need to snack I eat peanuts, I like the little 1.25 oz I believe they are of the spicy ones. I split the ones pack into two little containers so they are always around, and also snack on cottage cheese.< /p>

No gym for me, no excessive work out, no depriving myself of something that is a 'shouldn't', I reward myself with a little treat every night. Sometimes that sip of soda is just the most amazing feeling! :-)

I NEVER consume anything with 10grams of sugar, big no no and I swear that has been a big step in the weight loss. Everyone's program is different but I really swear that has helped. I don't do excessive exercise or deprive myself. :-)

Okay, Jules gave me an idea from a question she asked me. I was thinking maybe we could all share our updates..our weight before surgery and current weight, and if your pre op then your current weight and goal weight for day of surgery. Then let's do a little challenge for the week, ONE thing we TRY to resist, a food, bad habit, whatever it may be to help us get to our goal weight. Interested?

Day of Surgery Weight: 252

Current Weight: 156

Goal Weight Originally: 165

Goal Weight Changed To: 150

I would like to and will try to do @ least one more 15 min walk a day as well as 15 more mins on WII a day.

I think my snacking is an issue and I have very bad compulsive night eating issues. So maybe thats something I can put on the table as the challenge?

My weight on day of surgery dec 30th was 267. Current weight is 237 my goal weight is 145 my current short term goal is to lose these 37lbs and be under 200lbs for the first time in my adult life. I need to exercise more but ive been sick with the flu so thats been shot. But I would like to get a plan down

My highest weight was 274 when i finished chemo in May 2013

My day of surgery weight was 264.

My current weight is 221.

My goal weight is 135 (but I'll know better once I get down to the 150 range).

I want to try to resist inactivity. I feel so good when I'm active. I borrowed a book on stretching from the library. I want to increase my flexibility and my strength so I can get my 50 year old butt on rollerblades soon!

And also I don't think I can do a sit up to save my life right now lol

I wouldn't think I was able to either but this thing from Walmart is amazing and it was only $19.99!

BrickHouse and Jules you guys from the weight loss are doing great! I say we commit to our goals and really work at it! We can do it! We can do it! It's not like we are going over the top and cutting or adding something that's impossible, they are small things that will really push us to our goals!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

So Thursday afternoon I started feeling a little nauseated and within 30 minutes, I was so violently sick. Nothing was coming up, but I was just heaving and wretching so hard. It was so painful. I thought it was a stomach bug, but it wouldn't stop. I got scared and called Dr. Trivedi after about 5 hours of this. He told me to rush to the ER. Cat scan, ultrasound, blood work... more throwing up... I finally sent my husband and daughter home at 1 am once I knew I was being admitted. Friday morning, I had emergency gall bladder surgery and a bunch of adhesions freed up. This surgery was much more painful than my RNY. I'm also bruised a lot, too. But I came home today and it feels so good to know I'm sleeping in my own bed tonight. This was a Valentine's Day I'll always remember!

Oh my god Brick I'm soooooo sorry! This is awful! Are you feeling a lot better? Anything in perticiular that effected it? This is just so crappy to go through right after just having the bariatric surgery. Jeeze. Well, make up for Valentines Day you didn't get to have! Well recover first then make up for it! Lol. So glad you are now in the comfort of your own home! Please keep me posted

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
