Kind feeling really down! I could never sleep on my back and it hurts to much to sleep on my sides! Been almost a week! When does the pain start to go away so I can get sleep :(

It took me about 3 weeks. Hang in there I know that was hard for me too. All of a sudden it just felt okay to be on my side.

Hey, It took a couple weeks for me to sleep in the bed. I gave a comfy recliner I slept in. Everyday I would try to lay in the bed then one day it just quit hurting when I laid down . Hope that helps, hang in there ! :)

I was never a back sleeper either. However, even though I go to sleep on my stomach, I often wake up on my back.

Last year, I had my gallbladder removed and had a difficult recover because I am over sensitive to pain and pain meds don't work for me. Also, a week after the gallbladder removal, I had a small skin cancer removed on my chest which added more pain. I learned pretty quickly to sleep on my back and can even still do it now!

If you don't take sleep meds, maybe try a Benadryl or 2 to make you sleepy enough to sleep in any position!

I can sleep on my sides with careful turning. I am tired of sleeping on my back as well. Two of my incisions are sensitive so turning to my sides needs to be done carefully. With time things will be better that's what I keep telling myself ????

I'm a stomach sleeper myself, and I'm still too sore to go back to my stomach. :( I feel your pain! For now, I just have to tough it on my side and back, which sucks! But I've had other abdominal surgeries (gallbladder and ovarian cyst) and am used to the annoyance, LOL. It will be over soon!

I'm a side sleeper too & the first couple nights, I couldn't sleep in any position! I walked around the house trying the couches, the chairs, etc...but by the 4th night, I took an additional pillow to bed with me & propped my tummy on it & all was well in my world! Try leaning your tummy on a pillow ~ worked for me!

I get ya! I'm thankful I've been able to sleep on my side from the first night home. Unfortunately in my sleep I guard myself and have a constant back ache from lack of movement at night.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
