Ugh, hide your scale or have someone in your home (if you don't live alone) take it from you, hide it and only allow you to use it once a month!! LOL. Seriously, though. Getting obsessed with numbers could be affecting your mood. I had to back off the scale myself and now I only weigh in once a week and I'm not feeling like I'm constantly obsessing over numbers. I think my mood has improved since surgery but I have developed really bad insomnia which I heard is common. I'm 5 weeks out. It really really sucks. I'm tired all day then at night I have all the energy in the world. I'm taking my Vitamins too so that's not the issue.

You'll get routine 'post-bariatric' blood work, so your team will make sure all the labs are OK. A lot of folks talk about moods and emotions right after getting the sleeve. Snoop around the threads! And I weigh once a week. NO MORE. The scale will make you crazier than you are anyway!

I can nod my head yes to both of your questions/observations...I am OCD (seriously) so if I don't weigh myself every day, I obsess about it anyway; I do, however, agree with the advice about not weighing every day but only once a week at the most; if you are able to do that, I would take that advice

as for the mood swings and being irritable, I think hormones play a part but aren't the whole story...I think (for what it's worth) that it has more to do with the behavioral and emotional changes taking place...also, if you are like me and are an emotional eater, you have lost your best comforter (food) and no longer have your medicine (food) to take the edge off your anxiety...I think things get better as adjustments in lifestyle are made--at least for me I think it is getting better

Am i the only one that steps on the scale every day..

keea

LOL

you are definitely NOT the only one that does daily weigh ins

if i had a donut - ahhhhh i mean a Protein shake ;) for everyone that weighs every day - i could open my own store!!!!

"i get upset if i dont loss weight... crazy"

mannnnny people tell you/me to hide the scale, it will drive you crazy - get rid of it et al

if you are watching the scale too much - being upset if it doesn't move correctly - then i would "make" myself/force myself to get on the scale only once a week

that being said..........

i have always weighed daily, and will probably continue to do so

I need to make sure that i'm staying at the right weight <_<

it fluctuates sometimes - 2-3 lbs at the most

won't let the weight gain get any higher

people have been shot for less

as far as the mood thing - i don't know, i never had that problem -

(cuz i'm so wonderful, sweet and perfect!! )

but i hear stuff about hormones maybe affecting different things

good luck

kathy

Guilty of weighing myself everyday. It used to be fun, when I was losing a lb everyday the first 4 weeks. Now I'm at 6 1/2 weeks and I've gone up and down by 1 lb for almost 2 weeks. Its definitely frustrating. I know I should only weight once a week but it calls my name every morning.

No mood swings. Sorry, can't help you there.

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
