Just thought I would get the Ball rolling, find out when your surgery date is scheduled.

Mine is scheduled for Sept 9. provided my Blood Labs are all good, what ever that means. :/

I am having mine done in Blackfoot Idaho.

Hi! I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Sept 3! I start my liquid diet next Tuesday and I'm excited for that! I'm getting really nervous about the surgery though. I cry almost every day LOL I'm hoping it's normal to be so emotional about this! I'm so happy I found this forum - I have very supportive friends and family but it'll be nice to connect with people who are experiencing this too!!

Hi Everyone -

I start a 2-week liquid diet on September 2 and will have an Endoscopy and the Pre-op Blood Work done on September 12.

My Lapband-to-Sleeve revision is scheduled for September 16 in Houston with Dr. Sheldon Yu of Texas Laparoscopic Consultants.

I'm looking forward to getting back on track and losing the rest of my excess weight.

Hi there,

I had my surgery on September 7th in Goa, India. So I am currently 4 days post-op and so far feeling great!

I am a Canadian living in India, and I decided to have the surgery with some assistance from forums like this.

My surgeon is Dr. Sujoy Das, he has been very helpful and I am looking forward to my first post-op visit this Saturday when I will be 1 week post-op.

I am looking for help and support from this forum as I am a bit isolated here in Goa.

Prior to my surgery I had a myriad of tests including:

  • ECG, EKG, Stress Test
  • Endoscopy
  • CT Scan
  • Chest X-ray
  • Full Panel Blood Tests

I am currently on high BP meds and am looking forward to ditching them as my first goal!

Happy to answer any questions anyone might have.

Great idea to have a September 2013 group so we can follow each other's progress. I was sleeved September 10th in Haifa, Israel. I am an American living in Israel and the socialized medicine system here is terrific. Everything was covered and I was in the hospital 4 days. Now 8 days later, have dropped 12 pounds and feel great! I am a little worried as food has always been my addiction, and I keep reading about people who gain it back later on. For now though, I am determined and very glad I did this.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
