When is the typical stall period? I know its early and I am only 2 weeks Post op. I was 227 pre- liquid diet and 212 day of surgery and today I am 202. I have stayed on 202 for about 4 days now. I have read countless blogs and forums regarding stalls and trust me I don't want to panic now. When are the stalls typical? Another thing I haven't really felt full yet. I am eating softs now. I am just praying my dr. took enough out. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Stalls are typical at anytime. Early on the first one happens around 3 weeks out. Even when the scale is not moving, many people lose inches still. Take measurements so you have a record. You're doing great. It's totally normal to not feel restriction yet.

Good Morning!

Today marks my two week anniversary and during my 2nd week I also hit a stall for about 5 days....didn't budge, didn't move and I was becoming highly discouraged. I read a lot about stalls on here and found that stalls at week 2 or 3 are very common and just your body's way of adjusting.

I was freaking out and feeling like "great, I have the surgery, I'm doing what I am supposed to and I still can't lose weight". It's a bad cycle to get into and one that is made even more awful because of my obsessive need to weigh every day. I have determined that I will weigh once a week and just do what I am supposed to do as far as food and exercise go.

The good news is that this morning I weighed and I am down 1.5 pounds so the stall appears to have lifted for now.

Have an awesome day!

stalls seem to come and go... 3 months out what i will tell you is this... It becomes an emotional roller coaster trying to lose... What i have reverted to was telling myself that I am keeping in line with what I should be doing... as in eating healthy/working out.. etc... This way i know that i am putting my best foot forward... The weights gonna come off.. Its crazy because today I am 272lbs... surgery weight was 317. and my highest weight was 344... I feel great, and i get told i look great... and In my mind i know i have more to go... and im just focusing on doing it... and I will... so will you... what I try to tell myself is "Give yourself a break, your doing the right thing"...

Everyone here is going to be different. I'm out about as long as you and have only dropped 7lbs since my surgery date. I weigh myself everyday, but I always have as a way of keeping myself in check. I don't get discouraged if I don't drop a pound everyday, I know the weight-loss will happen!

We are all bound to have stalls at different stages, I just consider myself a slow loser, this has been my weight-loss history anyway. My highest weight in life was 280, I lost 60bs on my own BUT it took MANY years and then hit a plateau like no ones business! Once you get back to your regular daily routine and are more active, the pounds will shed. Embrace your stall knowing that it is your body's way of taking a little break. What's most important now, is how you feel. Is your digestive system happier because it's not constantly being over-worked? I'm happy because my diabetes symptoms are all pretty much non-existent and my blood pressure is "normal!"

Happy losing! :)

I'm almost 7 weeks out now, but I stalled at 2 weeks and it lasted almost 3 weeks!then all of a sudden I dropped 5lbs over night! As long as your doing what your supposed to, you'll lose the weight.

I am 10 weeks out and have been stalled twice for a total of 8 weeks. I've lost tons of inches though so I'm not at all upset by the scale not moving.

The thing is I look and feel so much better. I'm enjoying this process even though it is not at all what I expected.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
