So, I'm in my 9th week, and I noticed I'm eating about 6 oz a meal. I wrote my NUT and she told me 4 meals at 6 oz a day. No snacking, nothing else. I have been seeing another nutritionist (not a bariatric specialist, but still very good..), and she tells me I have to have SOME kind of snack in between...mainly to keep blood sugar stable (I'm not diabetic, but still...). I find I still get hungry after about an hour of my meals. Now, I'm afraid to eat anything else! I've been stalled at the same weight for about 2 weeks, and I don't know if that is why, or if it's just typical stall...

Is there anyone else who feels this way? I feel like I'm eating so much and that I'm much more hungry than most :( Please tell me I'm not alone?

I eat 4 small meals + 2 Snacks a day...keeps me from getting too hungry in between.

Don't worry about the stalls, everyone has them along the way. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Good luck!

I would trust my bariatric nutritionist over the other. Seeing two with conflicting info would drive me nuts! At least you know the bariatric nutritionist knows your special requirements as a wls patient.

Glad to know I'm not alone! Yeah, all the different info's and advice can drive you nuts lol I'm thinking if I had string cheese or something in between it wouldn't hurt...I hope.

I eat three meals and three Snacks a day. I incorporate Protein in each meal and snack which keeps me feeling very full and satisfied. Always eat your protein first........If you feel hungry, try just drinking some Water. Sometimes its just your head telling you that you are hungry and sometimes your not.

My doctor works closely with my NUT but he always says to use her as the guide but in the end do what works best for me. For example, I am 4 plus months out and strangely enough I LOVE Protein Shakes, she says I shouldn't rely on them. I talked to the surgeon and he said as long as I am eating some foods, meeting my Protein, Water, calorie and exercise goals and I am losing then he's fine with it. Long story short, I would say do what works best for you :)

Stalls are a completely normal part of the process no matter what food plan you follow. It is important to follow the plan that your NUT gives you, but you will eventually develop a lifestyle that works for you. I eat snack like meals 5-6x per day. That is the only way that I can get in all of my Protein & I'm rarely hungry. So, do follow instructions but don't feel too locked into them.

Both my nutritionist and surg said 3 meals of 4oz each and NO snacking. If I feel hungry in between I'm supposed to have Water

I am trying to get my Water in...but I still feel hungry. It's defiantly hunger. I wish these nutritionists would agree on something! lol

Also, do make sure that you get all of your Water in. I have found that how hydrated I am has a direct correlation to how "hungry" I feel. I still have a hard time distinguishing between being thirsty & being hungry.

I have only felt truly hungry a few times. The first time was before I was allowed fruits & veggies & other solid foods. String cheese doesn't fill me, but add a banana & its good. I find the less processed the food, the more filling it seems to be. Veggies and fruits are a great way to fill up. They are a part of every one of my meals. The other time I started feeling hungry was at about 6 months out & I started having that PMS hunger super appetite. I thought that was gone forever. That was when the big reality check of the sleeve being just a tool kicked in. You'll figure it out. Just keep pushing on & asking questions when you need.

I get hungry, that never stopped for me. I was told 3 meals and no Snacks. However, the Dr's Nut told me to get my 3 meals I can then eat them all day. Hope this makes sense:

B - egg, nitrate free sausage (however I may only be able to eat the egg at 1 time, then in a few hours I can finish up the sausage)

L - lean Protein and maybe steamed veggies (I may only finish the Protein so I can have the veggie in an hour or 2)

On and on...the key is to make a meal and then if you can't finish the meal, you can finish it during the day. The problem is that so many of us consume so many calories/carbs eating snack foods, that we derail our efforts at staying on plan.

So I have 1 meal and eat a bit more later if need be. Hours later I have my next meal and it goes on and on.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
