You'll start leting gas out first and for me after three days it came unexpected in the airplane on my way home. It was an ufergetable experience having to clean up and change in an airplane toilet LOL

It took me 15 days, Colace, senna tablets and Miralax..... but I finally "did it". I guess I missed the "diarrhea" phase the Dr. warned us about. No straining either which is what I was worried about after more then 2 weeks. This may be TMI, but my 7 pound puppy poops more then I do.

I was just like that and thought I had missed the diarrhea too until I had 1/2 a pudding cup yesterday and BAM! But it was just one time so I can handle that lol. I think it was my body turning its gears again. I was sleeved on 8/5.

That's weird cause I had my first BM on surgery night. Granted it was all liquid but I did a couple of times. Now I'm starting to struggle with #2. Sometimes 2 days (I was used to going 2-3 times a day).

My doctor told me to get senokot from the drug store ... Worked after 2 days, I took it before I went to bed.

I was farting and sharting and even passed a buffalo (not a pun) almost immediately.

I have had days where I've been a bit constipated since, but for the most part my body has found a rhythm.

I've had abdominal surgery many, many times before. It seems anytime I've been given the morphine pump I get constipated. I have learned to have colace (stool softener) on hand. It is gentle and effective.

My suggestion for the "pushing", bring a small pillow to press against your belly. It helps with the discomfort. Most times that I've had surgery (including my hysterectomy) I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital until I've produced a BM. Good Luck in achieving that ahhhhhh moment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
