My husband is killing me!

I'm on day 8 of my post-op liquid diet...

And he's in the kitchen cooking bacon!

Now my head is screaming

BACON!!!!!!

FEED ME BACON!!!

Now I have the task of convincing my head that the Protein shake taste better! Wish me luck.

Last night while baking an incredible smelling peach pie he asked me to pay the pizza guy when he arrived! I finally put my foot down and said no. Ive had nothing but shakes for five freakin weeks!

I was pissed when my hubby ordered pizza. I went to pay the guy and he asked me out. Made me feel a bit better about not eating that junk.

If you kill him, I will bring a shovel & help a sister out. No jury would convict us. Lol.

I understand during reduction diet all the way through my husband is LAZY I had to prepare food for my 13 year old had to make dinner every evening. My dau made herself something for lunch and breakfast. I was good and did not ear. Post op I sat with them because I did not care about food no appetite when I did get it back I would blend what they were eating providing it was healthy.

Serves your husband right! :)

RJ, you are taking away all the fun. No bacon, no gum and no soda!! Good Lord. That's 3 food groups!

Twins Mama, I haven't had gum even once and I've had enough gas come up from my stomach to full a Good Year blimp. So I don't know. As for the date, you should have gone. Maybe hubby will be a little more careful about ordering out in the future!!!

That's so darn funny.

OMG! You guys are so funny!

Thanks for the offer to help hide the body but if I did that then I'd have no one to take the trash out. lol.

No, MY husband is killing me! His insistence that we not have pork in the house means, you guessed it: NO BACON!

At least not the real stuff. There is this beef bacon out there (Facon) that cooks up darn close but it costs way more than the real stuff and while it's good and crisps up nicely and is almost the same...it's not the same.

Anyway, you don't really want that bacon. I mean, you think you do. But even if you could eat it, I bet you wouldn't even be able to get a whole slice down.

So, feel better. You might be denied bacon while on a post op diet, but I'm denied the porky, crispy, salty and smoky goodness as long as I'm married to my beloved husband!

I did not say she could never have bacon...she is not ready to have bacon.....Come on now..gum is not a food group...Did you not see the booklet they gave you at the seminars.....LOL

Now that I'm reading this Bacon thread, I can see why my surgeon felt compelled to point out in his book, "Bacon is NOT a lean meat!"

I was like, no sh*t Sherlock but I see there's an underground upswell so to speak that I was missing.

Aaaandd now I want bacon. Thanks guys! :)

I was such a crab on my pre and post op diets, that my husband would have been locked out of the house with his bacon if he attempted that!! lol I do remember when I was on soft foods licking the popcorn at the movies because I wanted it so bad! My daughter thought I was crazy :P

You can thank Dr. Atkins for that. He got people thinking bacon and pork rinds were health food.

Everybody knows pork rinds aren't healthy....except the BBQ flavored ones.

Lula is a nut!!! man the movie was a huge let down none of the characters where castes correctly!!!!! oh why did they try to put a face to my man in black his hotness lives in my mind only!!!! ugh!!!! lol

When I smell something yumalicious I think to myself' date=' and sometimes out loud, "Man, that candle really smells good!"[/quote']

I do the exact same thing! Basking in the scent while taking away the association with food is actually really effective and pleasant.

Also, speaking of bacon, I've been on a ketogenic diet for 16 months. It's often referred to as the 'bacon diet', lol... Other ketoers eat it by the pound but I just can't stand bacon at all. That being said, don't knock high fat/low carb diets, there are loads of health benefits. My cholesterol was way off for years and now it's perfect thanks to the delicious bacon diet. :P
