Yep. Just sleep through the first couple of days. i was so nauseous for a week - do you gave anti- nausea meds? I walked a little to get rid of gas pain a few times a day, and tried to sip but even Water would not go down. Gatorade worked better. Some people like Popsicles. I didn't eat anything for four days and I was able to deal with Protein Shakes and G2 Gatorade very very slowly after that. Let yourself heal from surgery! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Gas x strips that dissolve on your tongue. Someone with more experience will chime in I'm sure. Wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon, especially with the vomiting since I would imagine that couldn't be good for your staple line. Did they give you anything for nausea?

I was given Levasin dissolvable for nausea and have not used it yet today(day 3) I have also used the gas x strips a couple of times. Maybe see if they can prescribe you something for nausea. I was nauseous in the hospital and given a couple different things IV and that basically put me out. I had the slimmies from it. Hope you can find something to feel better. I have been lucky an dhave not had too rough of a ride, yet.

I just posted a day by day in the post op forum. You'd be amazed how much each additional day helps you feel better. I couldn't believe the change from one day to the next. Hang in there and yes, def ask for anti-nausea meds. They do help.

I am sorry love. But unfortunately its the price we pay. It will get better I promise. I remember thinking to myself what the hell did I do to myself but now I am in love with my sleeve. I have lost 37 pounds and feel great. Hope you get better soon.

Hang in there Sweetie... I've had a rough time too. For some of us, it's just harder then others. I feel like all I've been doing is bitching and complaining while everyone around me are just breezing through this recovery period. A friend of mine said she suffered for 3 weeks with buyers remorse, now she wishes she could have done it sooner. She's doing great, and we will too. Bet I can whine louder then you can......

It's not whining if you're hurting and miserable. It's expressing. You're allowed

Are they giving you something for it? The pain medication is giving me nausea so they are giving me regular anti nausea medication as well. I'm also on day 2. The lady next to me said every day things get much better. Hang in there!

I did not take any pain meds after the surgery. They all made me nauseated. Once I stoped taking pain meds I felt better!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
