Hey, I cop a feel on my abs and hips right when I wake up to predict what the scale is going to do. I have developed a really good intuition about it. It may sound corny, but I like do a little analysis on different muscles to see if and how much growth occurred over night. Oh and I like to check myself out in the mirror to see how the overall body composition is doing.

Y'all are so funny! I do it too! I clasp my hands together and they don't feel like my own! I put my hands on my hips and it feels like it is someone else! When I catch my reflection in the mirror at the gym, or in a store window, I still don't think it looks like me! I stare at my legs when I am on the Nautilus equip, not believing they look so thin..and my legs don't rub together anymore, I actually have a GAP where I can see air in between my thighs...sounds gross to anyone but y'all!! Keep on feeling, gang, we deserve it!!

Ya' date=' I forgot about the veins. I think of the many times nurses had a hard time getting them. Looks pretty easy now.[/quote']

Agree with that, especially after doing a few heavy upper body lifts. The veins pop out. I do not think the nurse is ever going to have to poke me multiple times again.

Yeah, I was stretching before my walk/run this morning, and looked at my legs. They were looking like the muscular legs I had 20 years ago!! The ones that everyone used to envy. No one has complimented me on my legs in awhile. Maybe they will now.

I am guilty of being a feeler... I have to admit it... I am always feeling my stomach and every time I look in the mirror it is like I have to touch myself to make sure what I am seeing is real!

No way, it's not gross...I can't wait to have my sexy gap again. That's the new thing...or at least that's what I overheard a bunch of 20-somethings saying on the train! I was sooo before my time!

Yes! I'm also all about those hip bones and collarbones. I'll touch my collarbones during the day, just because I'm amazed that I can feel them for the first time in my adult life. And I touch my hip bones every single time I lie down in bed each night. I'm just so amazed by the changes in my body, much the way I'm always fascinated by my round belly and fullness when I'm pregnant.

Only this is way better, because it doesn't come with sleepless nights or weight to lose. :)

My wife who also had WLS felt a lump in her hip area and got scared. She thought she was in trouble. Then she felt the same lump on the other side and realized they were hip bones.

I did the same thing with my breastbone.

Fat loss sneaks up on you if you're not careful!

Yes, I had the same issue with my sternum. When it was just poking out, I thought better go see the doctor. Now it is a big old dome right in the middle of my chest. Still feels weird to this day.

Durn, that was the word I was looking for, not breastbone. Weird thing, ain't it? I don't remember it from my childhood but it was probably there. :D

I don't think it was there when we were younger. At least not poking out as much. I was always thin when I was young and I had lots of bones poking out but not my sternum.

After this long at goal, I don't feel my bones as much as I did. I do still tap my hip bones once in awhile to make sure I can still feel them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
