I bought single bottles at GNC. They had a few different flavors in single bottles.

I'm glad I was able to try them bc they made me gag...a whole case would have been an absolute waste of for me.

The only store like that I have here is GNC and they have no single bottle :( I was hoping I could find a watery Protein drink because shakes do not stay down. Since pre op. so I'm ordering unflavored Protein and hoping that'll help.

BARFOLA!

Don- I thought you could have 30 grams of Protein an hr?

Amen! I bought a whole case from GNC.com cuz my nurse said they tated like Jolly Ranchers. Not sure where she gets her Jolly Ranchers but they don't. managed to swallow maybe 1/3 of a bottle before chucking it. Gave the rest to my brother in law, while weight training. That was before I knew about gnc.com's taste guarantee. If you don't like something, they'll take it back and give you 100% of your money back.

I wouldn't buy a whole case either. You might want to go to your local GNC and see if they have a bottle you can try. It must be an acquired tasted. I sure never acquired it...

Please buy individual bottles first to sample. I could have managed the flavor (which IS weird) but they made me break out and my fingernails broke and split. My hubby had to finish them......

Isopure is the only Protein drink I'll drink.

The key is to always try before you buy with this stuff.

People rave about Quest bars and to me they taste like a chewy blob of dookie.

I have no way of buying an individual bottle so I will just pass on them. Ill rely on my unflavored Protein because the nectar shakes are revolting.

Per nectar comment, have you tried the sweet line? They have double cookie, chocolate truffle, vanilla bean and more. I think you might like them. I did not not like the fruity flavors much, especially the fuzzy navel.

Yes I have tried chocolate cookie vanilla bean torte Cappuccino lemonade wild cherry fuzzy navel caribbean cooler and chocolate truffle. They all had a very sickening medicine taste to them (I'm assuming the protein) and no matter what I made them with, milk Water or almond milk, I could keep them down for more than a half hour.

I am sorry to hear that. Truly I am. I hope you find something you can keep down. You might try muscle milk lite. There are a ton of flavors and I am hooked on birthday cake flavor. Love it! One thing you want to be aware of is the carb count per serving. Try and aim for 3 g carb or less. Another good Protein shake I have tried recently is Synth 6. Actually, it is my preferred recovery shake because it is a super all around Protein matrix. And it tastes really good. I do NOT like the Isopure RTD bottles. I will drink one if I have to, but the tastes is a turn off for me.

I'm with you, Shelby! I bought a ton of Protein powders pre-op, most being nectar....I can't stomach them post op!

Have you ever seen one of the older garbage trucks driving down the road during a late summer record breaking heat wave, and there is this awful smelling and looking liquid trailing from the truck..... that is the Isopure fountain... stuff tastes foul and is slimy.

I got a 3 pound tub of powder online with Vitamin world for $44 which I thought was a good deal. Sounds like you may just be intersted in the pre made bottles I refuse to by those, I just mix mine (unflavored) with G2 or Powerade zero. Of course Im still pre op so my taste for it may change....but so far so good

Muscle milk was very good pre op just haven't tried it post op yet. That for me is a good pick because its readily available at almost all of our gas stations here in town. And hy-vee has sales every once in a while so I can bulk up. I'm worried about trying dairy post op though. Has anyone had any adverse reactions to a milk based Protein Shake? I have some Special K strawberry flavor Protein Shake I may try tonight just to see if I can keep down the dairy. Before I buy a lot of muscle milk anyway. Thanks for all your help!!! Down from 322 day of surgery to 315 today :)

No we have only GNC and Walgreens and neither carry them but that's ok I think I would rather mix my own unflavored with juices or shakes. A previous post said they mixed with g2? Did that taste ok? I'm a huge water/flavored water/Gatorade/powerade lover so that would be ideal!!

This loooooong website has packs of Isopure for 39 dollars (12 bottles)! I like the icy orange (kind of taste like a dream bar Popsicle to me) and the coconut (piña colada)! I take these on the beach with me. It's perfect because 40g of Protein and not milk based so they can be out in the hot sun! Hope that helps! If the website doesn't work let me know I can repost it! :)

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
